This is a new dvd out from gregory wilson (not the son of mark wilson), if anyone in this forum has problems with the double lift (DL) then this is the dvd for you. it also shows a lot of cool tricks using dl's. his pheonix aces is a great production.

This has actually been out for quite a while and even longer on vhs. But yes I do agree with you it is a great resource for the dl with great teching several different variations and showing you some routines that incorporate this sleight.

This dvd has been out on vhs for god knows how long Smile

anyway its good stuff for people intend on learning different types of DLs. greg as usual is humourous in his explanations.

his off the cuff was also revamped into a dvd last year.

oh by the way, this is one of the dvds you get to see greg with hair Smile

I've been extremely happy with everything I've seen of Greg's. I have Card Stunts, DoubleTake, and Off the Cuff on VHS, and am looking forward to when I have the cash to upgrade them to DVD.

Do exactly what he says regarding the positions of the fingers at the extreme edges of the cards. Look at the exact contact point between the cards and the fingers. It makes all the difference.

I love this DVD. Only purchased it a few weeks back and I now have a DL that I have changed slightly to work for me.

Up until this point in time the DL was not something I could not do pretty much at all well. I was hit and miss with the Strike DL I would have to rely on a get ready where my left hand held the cards in dealers grip and then with my right hand in Biddle-Grip coming over the top I'd pull up two cards with my thumb. I'm sure everyone knows this one. It works but I just didn't feel this was good enough.

Greg's explanations are very good and he even goes to the trouble of explaining how to turn over a double and how to turn them back face down.

He also includes a some great routines on this DVD using DLs.

This DVD is Highly Recommended for anyone struggling to learn the DL.

The DoubleTake DVD is indeed very good, covers several variations on the DL, and teaches a number of effects that utilize them.

Actually, every Greg Wilson DVD I have is good.

Comparing to DARYL's Ambitious Card DVD, which one will be a better one for us, in terms of learning card magic?

thanks,

Well, BOTH products teach one move/effect with variations. I guess what it all boils down to is what you want out of it. If you want to learn 20 different DL moves and some "bonus" routines to go along with that, I'd say get Double Take. If you have an interest in the ACR, then you might want to go with Daryl. He teaches a few other sleights as well, but Ambitious is all you'll learn.

The bottom line: Either way you go, I believe it's a good investment.

I am a huge fan of both. Though I would have to say you should go with Daryl's Ambitious Card over the two. Especially if you're happy with your double lifts. I come from the school of having more in your reference library is best though, so try to get both if you can.

You will get a lot more from Daryl's DVD than just a great ACR.
