There is something to be said about both escapes which need to be hidden and escapes that can be done in front of the audience.
For the sake of this thread, I was curious as to what you find to be your favourite escape done in front of the audience without cover. Do you like it because it is a favourite effect to do or because it gets a great reaction, or both? Or is it one that you haven't done yet, but would like to? |

My favourite visual escape is my "Tug of War Rope Tie"!
It's one of my signature escapes, which I've performed for 40 years! It's a simple rope tie, using 10 feet of rope, that can be performed, anywhere,at anytime,on stage or fully surrounded! Your rope or borrowed! No trick tie,no trick moves, Your hands are tied together at the wrists( you in full view, place your hands in a overhand knot, then two large volunteers do a tug of war to tighten the knot, then tie as many knots as they wish! When they are satisfied you are tied, tight,They step aside! I then escape in full view ,without untieing the knots!!! I have performed this hundreds of times, without failing!! Does that answer the question? Steve Baker |

Steve,
I've not had the pleasure of seeing one of your performances. The escape you describe sounds very impressive. Rob |

For those who would like to see the escape that Steve is talking about you can catch it, performed by Steve himself, on the Cannons 21st Century Lecture video. And yes it is very entertaining and looks great.
I've been playing around with plasticuffs of late and have found that doing these full view in a close-up situation gets a great reaction. You can check out a short video of me doing this escape on http://www.roslynwalker.com/cancerescapeappeal.htm. The site has only been live just over a week, so please forgive the rough appearence. Take care, Ros

If the sub trunk could be done without a curtain that would be mine.
