Check it man. Heres the lowdown.
Spray Adhesive... you can punch holes into a card and use it as a stencil to spray the glue onto another card... it will leave perfect little circles of the glue in all the right spots... Double Sided Tape... Its in the green package usually. Its stronger, and a great alternative to making up gaffs and not using krazy glue... its strong enough, but still removable. It makes some noise between cards unless you dumb it down with your fingers first... Removable Double sided tape... this stuff is cool! Its less sticky and can be used to hold cards together really well, and makes very little noise when seperated. I find it needs to be dumbed down alittle too, but its overall quieter... Removable Glue Stick... I found this in Staples recently. Its in a blue tube usually. Made by 3M (same as the others), this glue stick is made to create a removable sticky surface. It needs to be applied, and then dried for about 10 minutes. Then you'll have a nice removable sticky spot wherever you want. I have found that hiding the tape in the corners of the face cards graphics camos nicely. The spray adhesive is good if sprayed thru the punch hole, and on the club pip of a card. It hides perfectly. Let me know if you have any q's about this sticky stuff we all love. |

That removable glue-stick sounds great.
I use chapstick sometimes because, unlike other substances, it can be rubbed off if not left on too long and also, adjustments can be made to the cards after sticking them together

Jay Sankeys "Yes and No" is a great effect using double stick tape.
I can't really find any good double stick tape around so I just use a little bit of magicians wax, does the same job. There are a few tricks in this little booklet that came with my magicians wax that could also be applied to double stick tape. |

Say what you want about Penguin instant downloads, but I have to say that I've been having a blast with The Ultimate Ace Assembly. It uses double stick tape, of course, but I have also had some problems with the noise it makes when you unstick it. That removeable glue stick stuff sounds like just the thing to fix that!

That would allow you to faro? As I said I don't own the trick, but I think it should work... |

I'm not sure if this is the same as what is meant by removable glue stick, but I've always been a fan of Post-itâ„¢ brand adhesive, which is available in a glue stick. You can find it at most large office supply stores here in the US.
For what it's worth, I remember the Dark Card as originally being an Annemann trick. I don't have the Annemann book in front of me, so I cannot give you the original name, but there is quite a bit of gold buried in Annemann's books, and he was a fan of using diachylon or other sticky means. If one is interested in such, both Annemann and the Hugard "Encyclopedia of Card Magic" have interesting material. Cheers! |
