Ok pics are even. Even a pic for Tabby of the workshop with sawdust and wood pieces, like a good shop.

Doug, that's a great idea - listening to Benny Goodman in the shop!!! I may try that. Sounds like a good vibe!!
Rick, great pics. The shop is looking good. I may get you to make me one of those tables. Maybe you could add a section to the PMZZ (PRO Magi Sawing Wood) website of members shop pictures, when you get some time. Michael, do you have any ebony down there??? -=tabman

Tabby,
You bet. Since I havent done the hinges yet, I can use these as a pattern. BTW, I listen to 80's music in the shop. Good stuff. |

I can see it now!!!! The Shops of PMZZ!!!
Interesting about the music. Funny, but I don't listen to anything but the power tools as a rule. I think some good delta blues might be good or some Muddy Waters or Pinetop Perkins. -=tabman

Just got back from a show that Jonathon and I did for a group of scouts. It was fun, and the gorilla scared the crap out of them!
Lookin' good on the table Rick. Bandsaw for the hinges??? HMMM... I clamp 'em up good in a vice and use a Vise Grips to break off the center barrel section and file it down a bit more, then a hacksaw and file on the ones that need just a portion of barrel sections cut away. I'd be afraid the band saw might jerk it out of my fingers... kind of a tiny piece there. Glad you had a good one there Doug! Makes it all fun again, huh? My choice of music in the shop is classical... the stuff that really wakes you up, like what they used to background the old cartoons with! But I am also a connoisseur of Led Zeppelin... just can't play 'em when I'm near sharp spinning things! Ha! Tabby, I can get Ebony locally (Woodcraft), but never have... that stuff is pretty expensive! Had some in my hands last night. Do you need some? Oh, I heard from my stepmom and speckled grits should be comin' round soon! ~michael

I'm going to have give you folks some culture in music. Nobody said Roy Orbison, Willie, Alabama, Neil Diamond, The Platters, Dr. Hook, Bread, Bee Gees, Garth, Gordon Lightfoot, Kenny Rogers, Roberta Flack, Kris Kristofferson, Little Texas, John Denver, Bonnie Raitt, Julio Iglesias, Yani, Faith Hill, Jim Croce, and Dolly.
(I'll bet you don't even have a harmonica in your car!) I do sneak in a little Benny Goodman, Roger Williams, Andy Williams, and Sinatra. I even listen to some show tunes. Lucy's thing is the classical. Ballet folks can tolerate such things. She can tolerate almost everything I like except R&B. (I spent too much time as the token white boy in Memphis. Did Syd know that?) Lucy's unicorn (Star Dancer) is really coming along fine. Today Lucy suggested that we buy a big tent and just make an outdoor traveling show out of it. I think the understudy (Star Duster) is actually going to be the better show animal. But she needs some aging. I'm not sure Lucy undestands what all goes with a big tent. Doug, I'm back on schedule. The lady I married wanted a new rose garden. It's done! Now she needs some lights and tile work. That we buy! Meeting in Birmingham on the 12th might give me a little time to spend with a 60 year-old calf roper (still competing!) from Oklahoma I haven't seen in a long while. In fact it was at a rodeo clown's funeral long ago. (His cousin, Buddy Martin who was Rodeo Clown / Bull Fighter of the year 1979 and then he took a really bad hit four days after he got married.) I've got a daughter that rides saddle broncs, but fortunately she stays away from the bulls. (The boys hate her because she is good and wins.) If she makes it all the way through Vet school, I'm sure cowboys will fear her! (That may be just plain smart!) Early next week I'm sending a large order to China for silks. (I've been in the import business since 1969.) Do you need anything special for anything your building or your shows? This will likely be my last order for 90 days but it is a bonebreaker. With oil prices going up, I can't afford to gamble on the dollar to stay even as strong as it is. Dollars may get cheap until summer is over. I'm trying to avoid having to order but one more time before then. Tabby, Lucy and I owe you some money. Don't wait until April 15th. That's tax day. (At least we have a theater show that night!) Finally a real day off. Surely something will come up! Don't paint any zig zags. Bob |

There is some discussion of the PMZZ on the Genii board:
http://geniimagazine.com/forum/cgi-bin/u......3#000009 under the heading Cullman,Alabama?. I mentioned some of your names so you may want to drop by and clean up your reputations while you still have a chance. -=tabman

LOL, I like Arash's comments about being stranded on an island with us.
I think most people like a club like this, no minutes, no agenda's, no mission statement, just a bunch of good people having food and talking about building magic and telling stories. Michael, where do you think we should meet in B'ham? I'll call and set it up. Wanna meet about 1PM whereever we meet? Bob, ok let's talk about Zep, Sabbith, Yardbirds and Beatles. How about Steve Ray Vaughn (who is Syd's fav). So there!!!!! |

Havent said a WORD! LOL
Hinges: Michael, my hingles only have 2 thingys for the hinge pin on one side and one on the other.. Do you think I just should cut out a space on the single side for the spring to fit, leaving the rest to hold the pin, and then cut out the dent in the other side to match. These are SMALL hinges. |

You know I've always wanted to go there....
Well, you know we could always use Gulf Shores as the 'Alabama' version of Tahiti. It has sand, the ocean and good seafood and is a bit closer. I think there's a few islands down there we could meet on. |

As long as the women are nekkid and the drums are furious...kinda like a scene from national Geographic...
remember those old mags? I was 18 before I learned ALL nekkid women didn't carry spears! Alabama sounds good to me!

Tabby,
On 72 between I-65 and Ole Heidleburg, there's a place called Jimmy's. The drums beat and the women are nakked there. It's a "Gentlemen's Club" |
