I went through an old drawer of magic that I've had for a very long time and found the YOT. It didn't have the instructions and I don't remember how to work it. Can someone pm me and let me know? I hope that is ok on this site.

What is a YOT?

Its a puzzle .
Made from metel ,its a round disk about half an inch thick, it is a removeable trap door in the centre. You have to work out how the trap door comes out. Not the best $35 Ive spent. |

I bought a YOT for my kids to play with. They had it open in about ten seconds.
This is one of those things that you need to try before buying. Some had a stiffer mechanism than others and although the method was the same, the looser ones "accidentally" open way too easily.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Terrible investment of 35 bucks...i unfortunately purchased one with a "Slippery" mechanism and have had awful luck with it...suffice to say it is tucked away neatly in my drawer!

I believe there is a newer model (YOT II?) that is tougher to solve.

Hey Cap'n Mike,
Are you sure you know how this gizmo works? Sound to me like you're just going in circles. Jim |

I am probably the only Magic Café member who has bought more than 60 YOTs. No joke -- my public relations agency purchased a couple dozen of these UFO-shaped puzzles from Twin Cities Magic and Costume, and then turned them into a magical 'direct marketing' piece for a client of ours who was a bank president -- he'd mail the YOTs to prospects, teasing them that when you had the right bank, getting the financing you needed was as easy as opening the YOT . . . if you knew the secret. Worked like a charm.

YOT 2...Secret revealed
If the BBcode works, you will have to highlight it below to see it. If not, sorry for the obvious spoiler. [color=#218429]Same as YOT 1, just upside down.[/color] No one has said it yet... But you do know YOT is toy spelled backwards? Of course you did!!! Kind of like the old Warner Bros. Cartoons with the little space baby. Yob... Yob... come back Yob!! Randi |

The baby martian, was Mot, and he ended up in the care of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur in the 1956 cartoon "Rocket-Bye Baby" directed by Chuck Jones.

He woke up just in time to see the nurse bring out his perfectly human baby boy. As a twist, the little bracelet his new son had been given was put on backwards. It spelled (Yob) I got that from here... http://forum.bcdb.com/forum/_C17/_F15/bo......_P56601/ Sorry to go off topic. But hey, it's YOT were talking about here. It's not like it's "add a number". I was given one a couple of months back. I know I might be in disagreement with some here, but I loved it!
After I opened it and realized with horror that it was bought as a magic thing for real money, not the monopoly kind, I saw a dollar coin inside. I use the coin for magic, gave the kids the rest. So, I think it's a killer effect. Does it come with the coin? Or do you have to buy that separate?
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.
