Not sure but did Randi get some grief for one of his psychic surgery demos saying it was a TT? Correct me if I am wrong.

Other magicians who revealed secrets to the general public would include Harry Blackstone, Sr., "Magic Explained" both in hard back and pocket books, and Mark Wilson. Both their works were written by Walter B. Gibson, I Believe, in part or whole. I think David Blaine had a few great secrets in his bio/book. Do not know about Chris Angel but would not be surprised.

Dorothy never said the publisher gave Houdini the key. The Travel Channel said that. She would have no way to know and would leave no mystery anyway. Dorothy gave several different scenarios that they did not use, and used their own. If you read the posts before the show aired you will see we were concerned, because they tried to get her to say what they wanted in every which way, and she would not. So they said it. Watch the show again. That is Reality TV.

We were bumped from the "Decoded!' show for similar reasons, but they used part of what we said.

Talk about ethics, we will not even sell the TT vanishing red silk and Professors Nightmare in the store here. They are two of the easiest sells, highest profit, make it yourself in the store tricks in the business. We feel they are too good to reveal to pass through tourists.

Please note, Pat, we said in mentioning you, POSSIBLY, since you expose Houdini to the trade, not the public as the others on that list. But by your rules many of the greats would be kicked out of magic. Harley is right. Times change Media is different today.

Though Norm Bigelow has a totally different read on the Houdini death, he like us, was one of the first that realized that the story as told through Bernard Ernst did not sound right, in any way, so he looked for other avenues.

We are a small non profit museum and cannot afford Ask Alexander. Maybe some kind person would like to donate a subscription. It would be tax deductible.

Randi spoke at the Castle Monday night, 83, fresh from a trans-ocean flight, not to mention some recent chemotherapy.
He was beyond Mensa brilliant. Entertaining and informative. Max maven was the interviewer. Great clips, particularly the psychic surgery on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

It was a terrific interview. My report:

Randi did tons of radio and is an amazing raconteur. No one knows and can talk about that occult stuff better than him. He has a great following in the skeptic world as most know. He sometimes talks in NY and it is always entertaining and educational. Great to hear, all things considered, that he is still doing his thing.

When we had The Magic Towne House in NYC we gave him a Hocus Pocus Magazine Award at one of our conventions and as always when he spoke and performed he was outstanding.

John Cox reports on McGill University's read on Houdini's death on his great site wild about Houdini.

http://www.wildabouthoudini.com/2012/08/......ion.html

They appear to agree with our theory that Houdini was already ill before he was punched by Whitehead.

Please note they also mention Houdini discussed Margery at McGill. She had threatened Houdini with bodily harm should he expose her. This may have helped to incite Whitehead to try to punish Houdini backstage, as we have come to the conclusion in our research that Whitehead purposely punched Houdini. It was no "accident" as purported by Bernard Ernst to collect the extra thousands of dollars in insurance for Bess.

Whitehead was a kook, a hermit, probably had strong and odd religious beliefs, I believe he did readings, challenged Houdini's belief in the Bible, stalked Houdini, looked into Dyanatics (Scientology) and even went to jail later on for stealing books from a book store. One of the books he went to jail for was about the occult science of handwriting analysis. We have a copy of the same book in our collection at the Houdini Museum. Most of this was not known about Whitehead when he punched Houdini.

We have found Whitehead was close friends with people very high up in Canadian aristocracy who believed in spells and hauntings including people closely connected Prime Minister McKenzie Smith, the biggest spiritualist and conductor of seances in Canadian history.
