Personally it sounds like a knock off of Jay Sankeys Wrap it Up, and I informed jay about it. He said that he will be talking to Chris Smith.
Check out my new effect "As Good As It Gets" a gimmickles pencil or pen through bill effect. It closely mimmicks the slow motion phase of "Misled." About "As Good AS It Gets" for no gimmicks and everything being borrowed.

This is just the re-release of 'all stuck up' which I think was created before Sanky's

There are currently four versions of this genre of effect out there: Pace's, Sankey's, Aaron Fisher's, and mine.
Pace's and Sankey's from what I know use a similar principle, but I don't know enough details of their handlings to comment any further. I do know that both are somewhat restricted in how you can perform them, and both have a certain degree of reset before being repeatable. Fisher's is on the Dan Harlan impromptu magic video set, and while I don't know the handling, I do know from discussions with Dan when I first published my handling that it's altogether different from mine. Mine ("Sticky Situation") is very visual, and has no reset at all. It's always ready to go, and the only restriction on performing situation is to watch your angles behind you. Hope this helps, Andy

I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Andy's effect "Sticky Situation" is a great piece of magic that looks really good. I love visual magic (usually card magic) but this is something that I see myself doing all the time. Thanks for such a wonderful effect Andy!

Jim's effect is a re-release of "All Stuck Up" which at least pre-dates Sankey's as far as publication date--hardly a ripoff (which is a word that gets thrown around too often and too carelessly).
And it doesn't require much reset at all, other than to grab a new piece of bubble gum, since you give the gum away each time. It's an excellent effect, technically very easy, plays well and is easily and quickly reset. I haven't seen Fischer's or Andy Levwin's.

Scott,
I was told it used a same certain something that Jay's does, which would require a certain degree of reset before you could use it again. Was I misinformed? On another note, if you like the plot, the best solution is probably to buy each version and then see which you like the best. I know neither Jim, Jay, Aaron nor I would have a problem with that :oD Thanks, Andy Leviss (that's L-E-V-I-S-S :o)

Well, you would have to grab hold of the gimmick and the gum--about a second or so to reset I suppose. I use it all the time. I'd be happy to review your version comparatively if you want to send me a "review copy."

So Scott, what's the difference between the original "All stuck up" (still in the Hank Lee catalog), and the new "It's still fresh"?

A chewing gum is brought out from your mouth and restored in it's original state wrapped in the wrapper as well.

You can email or PM Jim about this. He is in here quite often. From what I know, Jim bought the manufacturing rights from Jay Sankey years ago. Jim and Jay talked about this and settled things. Jim no longer pursued making it because Jay had re-released it with new packaging and all. This is pretty much a non-issue.
As far as the term ripoff being tossed around every so lightly, I wish people would take the time and effort to study things before shouting "Ripoff". Take time to see both sides. By the way, it's a great trick. Seth |

I agree. Everyone wants to be the first to discover a rip off.
