I saw this a Elmwood Magic, here is what is said:
The performer removes a deck of cards, spreads through them while they are face up and asks any spectator to remember one of them (the performer may even have a second card remembered by another spectator). The deck is then suffled and replaced into the card box and for the first time, the first spectator is asked to name the value of her card and merely think of the suit. The performer explains that he will concentrate on the value while the spectator is to concentrate on her unspoken suit. As she mentally visualizes her card rising out of the box, the selected card is actually seen to rise from within the box itself! Next, the second spectator is asked to repeat the process with his own selection, and it too rises from within the boxed deck. Note that the deck can be freely shown as well as all sides of the card box and the spectator can mentally select any card from the deck. Don't confuse this with any other card rise -- this new method insures that the spectator's thought-of card rises out of the deck every single time! Every single piece is HAND CRAFTED by Christopher Brent himself and takes hours of time to produce. I was wondering if anyone has this, or knows how it compares to Notion of Motion? |

It is very delicate and you are limited to which cards a spectator can select. In NoM you can have a spectator freely name ANY one of 52 cards.

Thanks....I tell you I have researched the rising card for about a week now. I currently use the Penguin one Ive had nearly 2 years. I discovered it got a nice reaction on my strolling gig so I have replaced the deck with a new one and added an adhesive I read about I bought at Walmart. Looked at a site with Devano now Im looking at martini one (uses adhesive). It comes with lifetime warranty on gimmick.
Is there a big difference in the adhesive gimmick ones? Where is NoM purchased? I take it with 8 card choice, a certain force is involved with Telekinetic Card Rise , Its $85, I don't want another shelf deck.....delicate bothers me also...but sounds like a stunner if ad is correct.

I emailed Elmwood and here is reply:
"No force is used. The device is pretty hardy although if it was used with too much force or stored poorly it could damage the device."

Henry Evans has a brilliant rising card. In fact his rising card was created by a Brazilian Magician, Varone. The gimmick is so superb that the espectator can examine the deck after the effect. You can do a lot of tricks with the deck and when you want you can do the rising card effect and after thar you can continue with your routine. It's fantastic. See you!!!

I just posted a question about this deck yesterday - I have had one of these since 2002 but never used it because I felt that this was way too complicated a way to rise a card. I found it last week in my drawer and I was wondering if this is worth learning, or should I sell it? They were like $85 new I believe and mine instructions were hand signed by Mr. Brent and show as #23 in the series.
Thoughts? Love it? Hate it? Anyone have it? I still have my trusty Arne and it's no fuss or muss.
