I have been moving back into magic after a long time (20yrs) of nothing.
It wasn't until last year when I found the huge internet community, that I was able to find more material. Up till now all I had access to was an old book of Bloackstones. I've gotton a couple of DVDs and a couple of books, but I find that I could use a live person to talk to to help with questions and technique. I'm mostly into card and escape but I'm interested by all aspects. If there is anyone in the KC area (I live in Olathe) please send me an e-mail and we'll chat. |

Check SAM and IBM web sites for chapters in your area. One of the best ways to make a connection.
You have to give it away to keep it.

Greetings and Salutations AV,
The local SAM, Assembly 38 meets at 7PM the third Tuesday of every month at the Fairmont Community Center, 608 South Ash, just off 24 Highway. Their web site is: http://www.samkc.com The local IBM meets the first Thursday of the month at the Best Western Inn and Conference Center, 501 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, KS (corner of Southwest Blvd and Rainbow). Meetings begin at 7:00pm. Their web site is: http://www.ring129.com/ Both will welcome you with open arms. Many magi in the KC area are members of both. I'm a SAM local and nat'l member (once again), and have recently joined the nat'l IBM. I got started with SAM so attend their meetings with some regularity. I've been to a few IBM meetings, only because I can only spread myself so far and their meetings had conflicted with previous engagements. Both will offer opportunities to work out your magic, perform, and get a hand with what you need to work on. Attend both a couple, few times, and I think you'll find all the help you need. See you then, Joe in KC |
