There is a different method for doing math problems. Since my knowledge of Algebra, I saw this, I am probably not the first. You can do Addition and multiplication problems very quick, with pratice, can be quicker than the Calculator.
Lets say you have 45 89 +32 In stead of adding the 5+9+2, then carry the one, 4+8+3 which will give you 166, you do it the other way, add 4+8+3 and then 5+9+2. then way you are taught is to add up the units digits first and then the tens. Well just do it in reverse. To Multiply, is a little more different, well sorta. lets say you have 63 X 42 Instead of 2 x 63 + 4 x 63(Multiply by 10) gives you 2646. which is how you are taugh in school. Multiply First you take 4 x 6 = 24 Multiply by 10 which is 240 add 4 x 3 which is 12, that will give you 252 Add 2 x 6 which is 12 that will give you 264 Multiply by 10 gives you 2640 Add the 2 x 3 which is 6, that will give you 2646 It may seen longer and harder, but that is just an illusion, try it, you can do it in your head this method, and it is a lot easier. Practice and you can even be quicker than a Calculator. |
