Hey there,

What is the smallest gimmick you know of that will create sparks? I know of funkerrings and the like. I want to stick a 9volt battery (dead of course) to my tongue and have sparks shoot out. I'd like to be able to blow smoke out too, but I dunno how to achieve that. Surely someone here can help a brother out.

Makin's sparks is alright, except for the bulkiness and loud wrrrr noise. My answer is to use a 2x2 square of flash paper, pour a pinch of titanium powder inside and then crunch the paper into a small ball. When ignited, it will produce a small flash with CRACKLING sparks. As for ignition, I would take apart a 9v battery but keep the shell, then install a small glo-plug assembly inside, load your perviously made "spark load" and your done! You can even make several of the loads and keep them in your pocket so that you may reuse the effect. Hope this helps!

PS All of the items mentioned above are available for a good price at theatrefx.com. For the flahs paper, be sure to buy "flash pads" (they are already precut pieces of flashpaper, perfect for this application).
