I'd like to be able to control the "New Posts Present" indicators (red coffee cups versus white) by specifying a time from which I would like to search. As an example, I'd like to tell the database: "Put a red coffee cup next to discussion area with a response posted after 5pm, September 24, 2002."
Can it be done by letting me reset the field with the time of my last visit, or is that transaction data stored for analysis, not to be altered? |

I don't think you'd be able to do that, unless you're good with Unix-based timestamps. The last visit info is saved in a cookie on your system, and while you can get in there and change things, the dates are encoded using a Unix timestamp. If you look at the contents of your Café cookie you'll see something like "1032814232".
There is a way to do it without a computer, though I wouldn't advise it for the faint of heart. Just count (yeah, right! ) the number of seconds between January 1, 1970 (Midnight GMT) and the date/time you want. Add 18,000 to your total to adjust for forum time, and that's it! Here you go! I found a page that has a form to convert a given date to a Unix timestamp. If you wanted to do it, this would help. Just remember to add 18,000 to the figure to adjust for forum time. http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm
Somebody kick me off the computer, will ya?

Thanks, Gene! I went through my cookie file, but couldn't find the one set by the Cafe. How is the cookie identified?

Do a search of your CWindowsCookies folder for any cookies "containing text" - type in "themagiccafe.com/forums" (without the quotes). There should be just one.
