Losing Control is amazing. I never thought it would be effective, but I have never been caught. So it stays in the act.

To answer your question KC- I think the tricks aren't great. The production values are great though. I loved the plot to 5 card stud and I loved Cooking with Lee Asher. I just didn't love the tricks. The performance of them were good and all-I just don't think they're good workers. I like thunderbird. Asher twist is overated. the trick 5 card stud is bad. His ambitious card is confusing and complicated. I do like the ambitious explosion though. He dosn't teach silver surfer at all. I know I cant say anything about his notes calexa, but I'm just voicing my opinion on his other works

The best value for the buck is a Lee Asher lecture. Try to catch Lee if he's passing through your town.
I enjoyed his 5 Card Stud video. |

Losing Control is the only control that makes me relax when I'm doing it, especially when I get away from it. It relieves all my tension when performing.

Lee has truly fantastic thinking...
Losing control is my favorite control while the spectator is selecting a card. I FOOLED SOME KNOWLEDGEABLE MAGICIANS with this control. Over and over and over... it just flies right under the "radar". I own most of his notes and the "losing control" would be worth buying the entire set... And no, I don't know Lee... but I do appreciate his way of thinking. And the "Thunderbird" ace production is great. However it has a Rip Van Winkle effect... Years will pass while you master it Sean |

Lee is a great teacher. That is one of his strengths. Losing control is awesome. It has a discrepancy but it is very deceptive and has more power that the criss cross force. So innocent and so useful.

I love Lee's style. Get his notes. I saw him at LVMI this year and he stole the show! (and there were GREAT magicians there!!!)

Lee lectured here about two weeks ago at Denny & Lee and it was fabulous. His trick Deuce Bag killed, at least me. Awesome stuff. Cheers,

No question...if you haven't seen Asher's stuff you have to check it out. All of those for $50? - A steal. If you ever have the chance to see his lecture or take his workshop on Pulp Friction, you can't miss it. You also gotta see Catch 33.

This has really helped and it really illuminates some of the details that make this routine this piece of art that is it... I highly recommend it! http://www.leeasher.com/thunderbird.htm Card Picasso... Lee Asher! "The Losing Control" is still the best single card control there is.... bar none! http://www.leeasher.com Well worth it! Sean |

In a way its doubled edged sword and depends A LOT about your style. Most Asher material in those booklets are either basic moves or very fast tricks. There really isn't no longer routines or such. Also as mentioned there is only around 4-5 items per bookled. I own em all personally and I have to admit that Losing control is only thing from em that I use. Most stuff just doesn't fit my style. For me allmost all Asher has published just seems to give impression that he really doesn't seem to publish all his best stuff. At least considering how highly he is praised by people who have seen him live or know him. But that's just the way I see it.

I think EYE POPPING routines are like "tabasco"... a little goes a long way.
They are credibility enhancer's (you're not an "Uncle Bob" with his 21 card trick, no offense to my Uncle). You're a real card artist who can do amazing things. This will elevate the slower paced routines that allow participation (but are a slower pace). One stregthens the other. There is much to be said for "texture" in a performance. Performing nothing but in your face magic can be a bit over-powering and can ultimately not provide an opportunity to create rapport. Great points! Sean |

Good points... I myself am a huge fan of Asher's work and can't wait for more.

Lee Asher is very talented and there a few things to pick in each of the booklet. He should really do a book with routines and such.

I think Lee is of a rare breed: he publishes when he has something new to offer.
I'd like to see some routines from Lee, too, but I'll wait, because when he does publish, I can be sure it'll be great. |
