Long time lurker, first time poster...
I have recently acquired a half dozen theater strip lights (like the kind used primarily to light the stage syc), each having red, blue and clear lens covers. They are very used, and have no connectors on them, only three bare sets of wires on one end. I wish to use them in my rehearsal studio but know virtually nothing about lighting tech, though know something about electronics. What would be the minimal system setup so that I would be able to control four of these strips and adjust the three different colors? What sort of controller board/dimmer packs would folks recommend? Thanks in advance. Steven Ragatz http://www.stevenragatz.com |

This is a good price for a starter package. This one would also give a little room to expand, should you want to do so later. pm me if you have questions...

Steven..it would also be good for us to know what the wattage of the bulbs are and how many circuits there are on each strip. The above dimmers Paul mentioned should work fine for you. They are rated at 500 watts per channel, so on a 20 amp circuit you could use a total of 2000 watts. However,a 600 watt per channel dimmer would be better in that you could take advantge of more total available wattage.
Also some of the strip lights have been wired in different voltages and rely on evey bulb to be working. Hope that helps, let us know some more info if you have it. Kevin
