HI,
I was watching the History Channel and they were runnign this amazing documentar called "THE MEN WHO KILLED KENNEDY" I was thinking if us magicians applied our style of thinking to mysteries like this we might be able to solve them. What do you think (I am very intrigued by the kennedy asassination - oh and by the way He was shot from the Manhole just below the grassy knowl.- according to the program) |

There is an excellent computer model recreating Dealey Plaza at the time of the assasination which pretty much proves that it was a single gunman in the book depository that killed Kennedy and wounded Connally.
You can read about all of the time and effort that went into creating this 3D Model Here http://www.jfkfiles.com/jfk/html/intro.htm

My gut feeling tells me that the Kennedy investigation was botched. And when an assassination investigation gets botched, it's botched from the inside. And everyone has an opinion.
From the Book of Five Rings by Miamoto Musashi (spelling probably wrong...sorry) there is a quote in the beginning that is one of the rules to successful life...and it goes like this. "Strive to see that which cannot be seen." Combine that with one of mine...See what others want you to see, and know why. Add discipline and an incredible attention to detail, and you may have the makings of a fine detective.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

Nice reference to The Book of Five Rings. I know this is sort of an aside but what a great book that is!

I use my mind to solve mysteries every day. This is what it is for!
Example. On thursday at work, someone lost a valuble and very small item. I used basic deduction and found it right where I suspected.

Kennedy couldn't have been shot from behind. the idea of Oswald shooting Kennedy from behind has too many variables left unsolved.
The ones I can remember: ----------------------- *The loading and firing of the gun - 3 bullets from that rifle -apparently its impossible to do so in the amount of time the shots rang out. * Every person who examined the body after the shooting told of a big gaping hole in the back of his head. It was an exit wound. If you look at the Zaproder (spelling?) film of the killing you will see kennedy's head been thrown back. Transfer of momentum from the bullet. * The photo's of kennedys wound have been proven to be doctored. In the 70's they had an inquest into the asassination- I believe it was called the "house of asassinations" they dealt with the doctored photo's by ignoring them. * People near and around the Grassy Knowl all ran towards the fence because that's where one shot rang out from. * Only after Oswald had been killed did they find Oswalds smudged palm print on the rifle. No prints anywhere else. CONSPIRACY Wow I know this is a lot in a magic forum..but hey it's interesting! If you ever get a chance to watch all the episodes of "THE MEN WHO KILLED KENNEDY" you will be very surprised! cheers! |

Yikes. This is a freaky topic to enter into, but I'll just say that in terms of magicians working on the Kennedy assassination, in Penn & Teller's How to Play With Your Food they shoot at canteloupes to demonstrate how Kennedy was shot from behind. Apparently, a canteloupe (and by extension a human head) will jerk back in the direction it was hit, because the bullet propels the head backward as it leaves the head.
Also, apparently many people have duplicated the three shots in that amount of time using the same type of gun. I would suggest that this program you saw doesn't have a whole lot of credibility if it ignores what appears to me to be entirely reasonable explanations for some of the problems they pose. -Travis |
