Years ago I did a card trick where I had a spectator run their finger over a deck of cards while a "wind-up" monkey was clapping cymbals together. When the monkey stopped, the spectator would stop moving his finger and the card that he/she was over would turn out to be their selected card. Very commercial stuff!
While there are more than several methods to accomplish this... My problem is I lost the monkey many moons ago and can't seem to locate another... In fact, I can't seem to find any type of wind-up animals to similate this. Anybody have any ideas? I don't know if they quit manufacturing wind-up toys for kids... but have searched toy stores, Wal-Mart, etc. Everything nowadays is electronic. Thanks in advance! Bruce |

I remember this thing scaring the crap out of me as a kid...
I have found that I do not suffer from insanity... instead I rather enjoy it! : )

http://www.hocus-pocus.com has a wireless remote clapping monkey called Tipper Monkey. It's generally a limited edition, so check for availability. I have one and use it in my street act as a crowd draw and hat tip attraction. I've used the system to power a couple of other animated toys for different purposes. Well worth a look.

My daughter is near tears anytime she notices tipper the monkey sitting on the bookshelf, but I like it too.

I get that response from a lot of children...and some adults. As I understand it, the eyes are the primary problem spot...they just look evil to some folks. the simplest solution ws to buy a pair of "cool" children's sunglasses and hot glue them to Tipper's ears and nose. No more bulging eyes and I haven't heard a sniffle or comment about the evil look of the monkey since. :o) Skip

I normally stay away from anything they've seen elsewhere like monkeys and little clowns,
Now blue hippos on the other hand..........

On one of Barry Mitchell's school show video's (I believe it's "Language Mooves Me"), Barry explains how to convert an animated doll or animal character (Dancing Elmo, Tickle Me Elmo, Dancing Blue's Clues, etc) into a remote controlled accent to your kid show. I highly recommend it.
