I own Luke Jermay's Building Blocks, 7 Deceptions, Skullduggery DVD and Coral Fang manuscript. For me some of it is useful and others not so much. I am curious can anyone out there review the other effects/publishings Luke has out.....I believe they are entitled: Walls & Bridges, The 8th manoeuvre, Central Reservation and Room 101. Anyone? Thanks!!!

Thanks, Scott

I enjoy Luke’s material immensely. With that said I own almost all of his published works.
Like most material your personal philosophies and thoughts in the art will prove to either make you love or hate the effects. With some creative thinking and presentations you can easily overcome any subjective pitfalls found within. -Room 101- EFFECT: The performer dribbles a red deck of cards and asks a spectator to call stop. The performer fairly and cleanly stops where the spectator called. The spectator is then asked to name any word, which is written across the face of the card. The performer removes the card and sets it face up on the table. He then removes from his pocket a blue backed card. It is the very same card the spectator stopped on - not only that, it also has the very same word boldly written across its face. -- If you like cards with your mentalism, this effect is excellent. Luke use to do this during his table hoping days. This effect can be very strong if dressed up properly. -Central Reservation- EFFECT: The magician hands a small packet of cards to three separate members of the audience. Each spectator spreads their cards and merely thinks of one. THEY then each shuffle their respective packets, shuffle the packets into one another and replace it into the center of the deck. The first spectator is asked to name their thought of card. The magician spells the name of the selection out loud, dealing a card for each letter. Despite the impossible circumstances, the card on the final letter is the selection. To avoid any accusation of tricky dealing, the magician hands the deck to the second spectator, who names their selection and spells the name dealing one card for each letter. Once again the final card of the deal is their mental selection. To finish, the final spectator is handed the pack and asked to deal, but to spell the name of his card in his head rather than out loud. Despite the unnamed card being freely mentally selected, the magician reveals the name of the thought of card with 100 % accuracy and NO FISHING! For good measure the final card also rests in the correct spelling position. --Again if your like your cards with mentalism this effect is hard to beat. - The 8th Maneuver- EFFECT: The performer invites a spectator up on stage with him. Once seated the performer removes a pack of cards from his pocket and explains that he is going to attempt to mentally transmit information to the participant. Namely three separate playing cards. The performer then removes one card from the deck, shows it to no one, and places it on the table. He then asks the participant to close her eyes and allows her to construct a playing card, starting at the corner and building out. The asks if she has done this, and she replies, “Yes, I am getting the three of hearts.” The performer turns the tabled card over and, sure enough, it is the Three of Hearts. He offers another attempt: this time, he removes a card and shows it to everyone in the room except for the participant. Once again, he asks her to close her eyes and gently construct an image of a card. She does so, and the names it aloud. Sure enough, it is the very same card placed onto the table moments before. Finally, the performer shuffles the pack of cards and asks another spectator to remove one and , without looking at it’s face, place it onto the table top. The participant is asked to construct one last image in her mind. She names her card, and sure enough it proves to be the same ast the tabled card. – While the effect is quite good, many people despise the method. This is a love or hate effect, pure and simple. Given the proper environment this can kill. But again this needs to be able to fit your style for you to really feel there is any worth in it. -Brandon

I saw Luke perform 8th Manoeuvre a while ago and it fools badly. It's an IS effect which is why many magicians object to it. I personally don't, but horses for courses.

I remember seeing a thing a long time ago where Luke said he had an effect coming out where you had a red deck, and someone picked or named a card, and a 3 diget number and you had a blue card in your pocket. It was the named or selected card with the 3 diget number wrote across the face. (he themed it around a gambling game in a hotel room, something like that). Possibly be Room 101?
Either way, I do believe I may pre-order this off of alakazam (AND IM IN THE STATES!) Scott
Thanks! Scott B.

I saw "Central Reservation" on TV performed by a french magicien named Bernard Billis, I was completely fooled by this effect !!! I could never find it until now (downloadable at http://www.alakazam.co.uk ). And it looks so easy to do
I wonder how practical this is ? I don't want to fish for method but is the setup easy ? The deck can be borrowed ? In anycase this trick looks incredible !! Nicolas |

Central reservation is dead easy to perform but looks impossible, if it is goon enough for tv it is good enough for anyone, this is great
