Magic Magazine's March issue has an ad for this ( it's a two page ad by Elluisionist listing a host of products ).
I love Marc's work, but know knothing of this. Is it a move, ala The Pass, TILT, etc. I'm curious because it's Marc's. Anyone?

Marc DeSouza’s Shapeshifter change, which in turn is based on Oscar Munoz’s The Pirouette Change, which of course was inspired by the movie Meatballs. - David Acer Basically Shapeshifter is Marc's colorchange. I didn't think it could fill an entire DVD, but knowing Marc whatever is included will be worth it. |

How does it differ to David Acer's Shapeshifter?

I stand corrected. I didn't see the small letters from the quote. Sorry.

I use the Shapeshifter change all the time. It's one of the best color changes I've ever come across; truly eye-popping. I'm not sure about filling an entire DVD with it, but I know I use it quite a bit in my professional work.

I think it will be a short DVD, kind of like the coin revolution they released.

It's coming out soon. And it's good. Very good.
Not quite short, but not quite long either. There's a ton of information regarding the history of the move, where names originated, publications shown and even the origins of the name. Interesting to hear. The move is broken down, including several starts and finishes not to mention a few other moves as well. It's not JUST about the move itself. For it's price, it's a DVD that you could definitely consider. If not for the move, then the information about the move as as well. Keep an eye peeled, and you'll see a demo soon. David. |

I think David Acer explains this move and lot of uses of the move in his video. I forgot which though. I can go back and look, if anybody wants...

In a nutshell, I thought it was extremely well done. It's always nice to see quality of instruction take the place of quantity of instruction. I would recommend this video to anyone interested in learning some of the finer points of the move (as well as some of DeSouza's pet moves). Unfortunately, most of the reviews of this video end up being little more than speculative conversations on the preview of the ALIUN Levitation (included w/ video). |

Thanks for the info. The levitation does sound mysterious.

Ok I just finished watching this video and I must say that I was very impressed. If this dvd is criticized on anything I believe it will be because it only teaches under 5 moves. Marc Desouza does a great job at detailing the history of the move and giving credit whereever it is due. I think lack of credit was a complaint about previous ellusionist videos. Marc Desouza goes in depth to teach the way the move is done. What is great about this video is the fact that you get to be taught by two people. First your taught by the originator and then your are taught by Brad whom I think does an excellent job. They give a regular view as well as an over the shoulder view. The move is broken down in slow mo so that you can really get the mechanics of it. In short, If you want to learn this move then get this DVD for sure.
Production- 5/5 Teaching- 5/5 Overall- 5/5 I also watched the video for the aliun levitation. It is a very well put together trailer. The levitation looks excellent. It looks very similar to the Elevator. You have 120 degrees of angle safety. Midair rotation is shown in the video and looks absolutely smooth. I must say that this levi looks much less jerky of a motion when you begin your ascent as opposed to the elevator. This also looks like the setup is much less complicated than the elevator or even the E2. These assumptions are all made from me watching the trailer so for all I know I could be fooled into seeing this as better than it is. Id like to know what other people who own this video thought about it and if you found my review useful. |
