If you go to the dan and dave forums, there is a great deal of information on the cut. You don't have to own the system either.

The main thing that fixed my problem is positioning my index a little closer to the middle of the long side of the cares

Reasons, the one that has a lot of given tips on the dananddave forums is the Revolution ONE cut, not the 2nd one. Artwo, it is taught by Tudor on Showoff 2.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:
A packet is spun out of the center, twirled ont he top of the deck, and then spun back INTO the center.

I hardly see anyone doing this nowadays, due to the difficulty of twirling the packet out from the centre. However, the fundamental spin that is now used in the Molecule 3 isn't too challenging, given your thumb, middle, and ring finger can work in harmony. I think Cap Casino teaches it as "The Riffle Cut" on his Back to Basics DVD.

The one handed revolution 2 is not that difficult... (even with my short thumbs it can be done)...
practice some more easy thumb cuts first... (for example the cannibal cut, the reach over cut and the three packet reach over cut... all on daryls encyclopedia vol 8 )...
try different positions of the deck in your hand... and experiment with gravity...
