In the march 2005 issue of MAGIC there is a trick which involves the Jinx Switch. Joshua Jay credits this move to Ted Annemann but I've seen it credited to Marlo.
Who does the Jinx Wwitch belong to? Cheers. |

I believe Anneman created before Marlo came on the scene.

Marlo published "Olram's Jinx Switch" in Marlo's Magazine Volume 5. Perhaps someone got confused?! [The title should mean "Olram's VERSION OF THE Jinx Switch" of course.]

Well, as we can't divulge secrets and methods here, suffice to say it is a way of secretly switching a card or cards for another card or cards.

I looked for the Jinx Switch in CC 1 and couldn't find it. Do you have a page number or is it in another volume? Thanks!

Page 240. It's not a separate item, but is described in a routine.

Also a good routine in The Paper Engine that uses the Jinx Switch. One of the easiest routines in the book.

The so-called Jinx Switch is a move from the gaming table used by gamblers.

Martin Nash had a cool switch called the Louisiana Switch in "Ever So Sleightly." He says in the write-up that it comes straight from the gambling table. It has a boldness that's reminiscent of the Jinx switch.

Cameron Francis teaches the Jinx switch in a few of his routines. Allan Ackerman has a tabled Jinx switch that is pretty deceptive.

Bannon's wonderful Vicious Rumors (Smoke and Mirrors) uses a Jinx Switch (or Top Change).
