Anybody has seen this card trick done in performance ? I usually do not like to put a deck of cards behind my back !But I may change my opinion on that issue if it looks ok and with a good justification...
Read this add : "Killer Card Trick by Cody Fisher Just what is a killer card trick? The magician removes a deck of cards from the box and shuffles them thoroughly. (The cards are really shuffled!) The fronts and backs of all the cards are shown fairly. The magician spreads through the deck and has anyone merely THINK of ANY card. The deck is taken behind the magicians back for only a second. (No deck switch!) When the deck is brought back into sight the magician makes three impossible claims: While the deck was behind his back he was able to: Locate The Mentally Selected Card! Reverse It In The Deck Place It Back Into The Shuffled Deck Right Next To Its Mate! Now for the magic: The Card Is Named…The Magician Spreads Through The Deck…One Card Is Face Down...It Is The Mentally Selected Card...And It Is Next To Its Mate! Now That’s A Killer Card Trick! Perfect For The Strolling Magician Resets Instantly Can Be Repeated With A Different Outcome Every Time Very Easy To Do" |

I think this one will be just like his Card to Wallet: GREAT. I will have to check this one out. I especially like the part about it ending up next to its mate. A lot of good story lines are flooding me right now. Looking forward to this one. I see this one is a limted run, so Cody, if you see this, how many have been printed?

James,
I originally (tried to) put this "on the market" about 3 years ago. I had about 100 decks made up by a professional printer. I spent a week at The Magic Castle...did a lecture...sold about 30 of them...then I immediately left to lecture in Italy. I ended up selling the rest of them in Italy! As it turns out the gentleman who made the decks for me had passed away while I was out of the country. Long story short...Just recently I was able to find a new printer to make up some more of these decks. They are a bit labor intensive to mass produce so this will probalby be a limited deal for now as my summer schedule is getting very busy. Anyway, I hope this answers your questions my friend...take care. Cody S. Fisher MUM Magazine

ND???
If you think of all the possible combonations of Invisible deck, Svengali, mental photography, ect it could be easy to see how this could work, but I would imagine it *would* be super labor intensive.... This sounds like a great effect that offers a new alternative to the standard gaffs and routines and will fool the pants off anyone who isn't familer with it.. Cody: Just a question, but could the "behind the back" be eliminated with sleight of hand such as a pass or half-pass or is it mearly there for the illusion of *actually* taking the card out and putting it back in reversed next to its mate? Just wondering if that is a performance angle or whether the deck actually needs to be out of sight. |

Paisa23,
You can use the deck for the effect that is listed or you can use this deck as an ordinary invisible deck. (It can be really shuffled though) It can not be used a normal deck. However when I perform this walk around...this is the last card trick I do...and I am not sure what could follow it...it's pretty strong. Daegs, You could definitly come up with a sleight of hand method to do the necessary move...It's just easier to do the behind the back thing. You could place the deck under a hank if you want to. My reasoning for the behind the back was to first make this routine "sleight free"...but from the audience viewpoint it's to make it "more difficult" to find the thought of card! I hope this helps, Cody S. Fisher MUM Magazine

Dear Paisa23,
I only have 100 of these at this time...and Hocus Pocus has spoken for almost all of them. Since my main income is performing magic...and my travel / lecture schedule is getting full...it will be quite sometime before I can get more made up. So yes the ones that HP has are it for now! I hope this helps, Cody S. Fisher MUM Magazine

I've had the Killer Card Trick for a couple of years and I can affirm that it plays exactly as written. It's a great effect which I've come to appreciate from all of Cody's products.

I'm struggling with this one. Isn't this effect basically achievable with an ID set up with mates?

Possibly, but can you actually shuffle an ID?
