Hi Guys! I know that I haven't been posting very much lately and for that I truly apologize. Things have just been so hectic around here lately. I'm leaving next week to do a show with Mario Manzini in Indiana, (I'll be on the road for about 2 weeks) and I'm preparing for my first paid Escapology lecture for a SAM club in New Jersey, and I'm still doing local shows plus my regular gig at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. I'm also working on my WEAR act, as well as my entry for the Cannon's EA convention in California. I'm doing my best to promote the art and it's keeping me very busy, but I couldn't let the 131st anniversary of the birth of Houdini go by without posting. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY!!! wherever you are.
Best regards, Tony Parisi |

Hi Ms. Morgan, I'll be lecturing at SAM assembly #161, The David Copperfield Assembly, on Monday night, April 11th at The Willows, 1013 N. Washington Ave, Green Brook, NJ, 08812. It will only be a basic lecture for magicians, to introduce them to the wonderful world of escapes, so it will be some basic rope ties, some basic handcuff picking and shimming, leg shackles, thumb cuff and thumb tie escapes, maybe a chain escape or two, a few SJ escapes and if time permits, a few different sack escapes. I think the lecture starts at 8PM but I'll get back to you on that after I confirm it with the assembly. It will hardly be worth travelling any great distance for but for anyone who happens to be in the area, please stop by to say hello. I'm hoping to encourage some interest in escapes and possibly recruit some participants for our upcoming W.E.A.R. event and the 3rd annual Escape Artist's Convention in California. This will be my first paid lecture so any advice or assistance anyone can give I would certainly appreciate.
Hope to see some of you there. Best regards, Tony Parisi PS for further information or directions go to http://www.sam161.org |

You'll do a great job!
When I've lectured, or watched others do so, there are a few basic topics...history, technique, psychology, and product demo. I've always felt that the last is the least useful, but most lecturers make their living from demo, so that's their emphasis. Think of the way you work the audience, the same as the way you'd pick a committee. Leave time for Q&A.

March 24, 1874...Budapest, is what Silverman says.
Somewhere I read that one of the reasons for confusion about his birthday, was that he had an idea that he might go into politics, and actually thought he might get elected president. So he had to be born in the US to qualify.

Cabbages scare me. Can I view them as lettuces instead?

The official line about Harry's "birthday" according to Milborne Christopher is that he was told that he was born on April 6th "to give him the security of American citizenship"
He was not told that by his mother for many years. He thought he was an American. |

Thanks to all for all the well wishes and encouragement. This may be my last post for a couple of weeks. I'll be flying to Missouri first thing in the morning to do a show with Mario Manzini. He will be doing an underwater police handcuff challenge on Friday, April 1st, and his famous Houdini Tribute show on Saturday evening, April 2nd. This will all be taking place in Muncie, Indiana, so anyone in the area, please come by to see us. I'll try to get more information posted when I get to Mario's. In the mean time, I hope everyone is well and I'll talk to all of you when I get back.
Best regards, Tony Parisi |
