Theatrfx.com has it. It burnt the crap out me. I found it to work about 75% of the time provided you have the time in advance to set it up. Setting it up on the fly makes it about 40% effective and VERY likely to hurt you.

If you have to use it, I suggest you make yor fees for a show are in accordance with the fees at the burn center... One microsecond of awe for a month of pain...
(By the way, I have done fire tricks for almost 60 years...) See Slim's Red Head torches... Slim

Theatrefx.com does NOT have it. They will not carry it anymore due to people getting hurt with it.
I am truly blessed to have a job where people are laughing all the time and everyone believes in magic....Come to think of it, I'm blessed to even have a job.

I had a small quantity of this power from a visit to Japan. Very interesting effect but difficult to use at any level of confidence for me.

I used this effect hundreds of times without burning my fingers. The chemical components are availabe in good chemistry stores, but mostly you need to have a special licece to be able to buy them.
As Lubor Fiedler was a very close friend of mine in the 70s, he not only teached me how to use the effect safly AND it is very important to purchase the highest available quality of this chemical gimmic. The original name was "devils finger tips" and was presented for the 1st time in 1978 on a magic convention in Austria. |

I bought some of this at a Fiedler lecture in Denver, Colorado back in '79 or '80.
We all thought it was really cool, but I know that I burned myself a number of times. Nothing serious, but it still hurt! Sammy

I remember when he lectured at the Castle years ago and everyone bought this stuff and half the Castle had blisters on at least one finger and some on several! I've done pyro for years and I could get it to work but it is VERY hard to get consistent. Moisture, humidity and many other factors change it and can burn you leaving a nice blister on your finger and/or thumb which could make it very difficult to do magic! Yes, there are a lot of tricks to doing it safely but ultimately it falls under the catagory of "not worth it" for the effect and the related hazards.

The pot sparked and the can blew up in his hand. I talked to Joe after the accident. On a lighter note, there is a really nice, reasonably safe, home made effect to produce a good flash and a bang between your "empty" hands. It uses a little flash paper and a "Booby Trap" or "String Popper". That, some half way decent slight of hand and a little misdirection. I won't say more on an open forum. Some of you know this one. If not, PM me.
