Joe Flynn played Capt. Bingington on the old series "McHales Navy"...How old are you...you might be too young to remember {LOL} I also believe his bro was Errol Flynn if I'm not mistaken!

One other note. Skinner performing the card in Wallet on the Tonight Show is the first time it was ever performed on National television.

Um...actually, no it wasn't. According to the latest, it appears that Frank Garcia may have been the first.

Um...actually, no he wasn't. Joe Flynn, born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1924 and raised in the United States. Errol Flynn, born 1909 and raised in Australia.

I remember Mongo and Binghamton both. Man, I feel old...

Thanks loads to whoever found and posted these clips.

These are quite amazing and I suggest everyone download them onto their PC asap. I suspect some copywrite police will have these pulled off the Café.

Seeing these makes me yearn for the oft-discussed theoretical "Magicians on the Tonight Show" collection.

It is so great to see Michael Skinner in his prime on the golden era of the Tonight Show. It was great to see Alex Karras smoking away on the screen, something that you would never see today in today's politically correct environment. He and Carson were really funny with their off-the-cuff remarks in these clips. And it was wonderful to see Tony Curtis seemlesly do the crimp. And he does look like Tony Randall from the side. My guess is that he had an entre into the Magic Castle crowd from his Houdini role.

I was so impressed with Curtis ( I thought it was Randal because of the profile and doing the crimp-Randal was so playful ). He played his part perfect. I fI had not known and done the effect, I would have thought he was a Magician buster. And Michael played his part perfectly as well.

I found these clips by chance. They have helped me so much in my own magic. Mike Skinner continues to inspire. We love and miss him!!! Now St. Peter is getting fooled!!!

Errol was not his brother. Poor Joe Flyn was murdered. He got caught up in a a dangerous lifestyle ( cruising bars ) and it cost him. He was a talented fellow!

According to imdb.com, Joe Flynn was found in his swimming pool, weighted down by a leg cast he wore at the time. He died of a heart attack.

I would love to see Michael Skinner's other "Tonight Show" appearances. I understand he performed "Open Travellers" on one appearance. Thanks for posting both of these!!!
