I live in Japan, so I normally get around by train. Trains in Japan are very crowded and usually by the time I get to my destination I am exhausted from carrying my suitcase full of props.

I use the Billy McComb table from School for Scoundrels for stage and parlor gigs, perfect for me. But in the near future I hope to do street performing and I am looking for a more appropriate table for street work. I like the tray jack stand with the table top but taking that on busy trains etc in addition to my props doesn't seem very practical. Cellini's table in one of his dvds seems ideal. It is self-contained, with props and table top inside AND with wheels!!!

Where can I get a table like this?

BTW, how do most street workers transport their table and props?

From what I could see, it was nothing more than a simple travel trunk. A lot of them come equipped with wheels now. Or if it doesn't, wouldn't a simple $20 luggage "tote" and some bungee cords work?

Thanks for the reply!

What is a luggage "tote"?

I haven't seen anything like Cellini's table/case before.

Do a Google search for "luggage cart"

There are dozens to choose from.

Funny thing. I watch "good eats" on TV.
One of the only things I do watch.

One episode had him playing the part of a magician
at the start of the show. He was doing some "hocus-pocus"
on the street in front of a few people and he was using
exactly what you're talking about. It was a trunk,
opened up with a table-top on top of it.

It looked really really good too. Made me want to get one.

Seems to me the best option would be some thing like a
lightweight lefler pro table without wheels.
Instead, use the luggage tote to haul it around.

The lefler pro design allows for it to be small when it's
closed up, and you can lock it. Being small when closed,
you could also have an added "bag o' stuff" sitting on
top as you wander the streets.

The downside to the lefler pro table, as is...
very heavy.
4 wheels makes it impossible to wheel it around on any bumpy surface.
just doesn't seem very busker-ly, overall.

Has anyone even considered using this on the street?

Sure you can. It had the rim all the way around so things wouldn't fall off, remember? It was the best table I thought.
