The Disposable Deck can be used in many different ways, from beginner to expert. When I do it, the audience believes they've seen several effects performed with a deck of cards, then instead of simply putting the deck away the deck is slowly crushed into a little ball and discarded. That's the effect, and the reaction is what you'd expect. Other handlings/approaches produce laughter or surprise, but know it's also possible to create a real "What the %#$#*?!" moment (Did I spell that right?). I'm thrilled to report that I sold out my first run and I've just received my second run. I'm equally happy to hear that people are out there DOING it!

What precisely is the effect? It's not a vanish, not a production, not a transformation etc. It seems the effect is one of you having superhuman strength! Kind of like tearing a phone book in half. Sounds like something you could ham it up with and have lot of fun.
Is that pretty accurate?

The first time I crushed the "deck" in front of a mirror, I was immediately reminded of the old Superman TV series with George Reeves. Nice effect!

It's more of a Gag-effect. It's a wonderful idea. I like it!!

I'm assuming this requires a deck switch if your doing a routine and then want to 'crush' the deck. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I can hear the spectators talk about it now...

Hi Logan. My mentoning Gag I did not mean to degrade the effect. To me a gag is a quick effect that is visual and brings a good laugh. Visual gags are some of my favourite effects in fact. I think they are remembered more by the laypeople.

I suppose you could use these as a deck vanish? Maybe wrap the deck with a napkin, then screw it up and throw it away. Do you think that would work?
It would be a bit similar I suppose to those realistic looking soft plastic bottles you can buy that you place in paper bags, then crush. Any other ideas for novel uses? I assume the deck is quite light. Maybe some invisible thread work perhaps?

In Ron Bauer's #19 Milt Kort's All-Outs Think-OF-A-Card, he included a presentation of Regal's Disposable Deck as an added bonus. The presentation is entertaining and fits well with RB's latest private studies release.

Hi Kjellstrom, I think the crushed Disposable Deck is too large to fit into even a large TT, although it's a great idea to make everything crumble up and disappear! The Disposalbe Deck by David Regal is such a thing of beauty that I relish this effect very much. I test performed this effect the other day and my audiences were just dumbfounded from their reaction. It's a great closer, folks, it really is a reputation maker IMO. Also, if you ordered anything over 50 bucks this month from David Regal, you'll get this item free from David. It's an April special from David's website. He is lighting fast in shipping too.

I concur with others here. David Regal has done it again!
What a climax to a card routine! What a blow off for not doing a card routine! What a gag to pull at a convention! In Disposable Deck you have a well made, creatively created moment which plays as magic or as a gag. It all depends on how you want to play it. Imagine if you could do an ambitious card routine alla Solid Deception but instead of finishing with a solid deck, you finish by crushing the whole deck into a ball proclaiming it useless because of the troublesome card. Imagine at the end of your card set you pick up the deck and crumple it into a ball and then say, “Oh wait, what was your card?” and then extract their signed crumpled up card from within the crumpled deck. Imagine you are with a group of buddies and the deck as it is going around the table stops in front of you. You reach out, draw the deck toward you, up off the table, and then crumple it into a ball. As you can see Disposable Deck does what all the good David Regal effects do, it releases your creativity to expand the possibilities of your performance. I very highly recommend this for anyone wishing to do something truly astounding for their audiences. Dealers can stock up on this through Murphy’s Magic Supplies. Cheers, Tom |

I bought it, and I like it. The gaff is superb. I stood in front of a mirror, and saw this beared man holding a deack of cards in his hand, and then he crusched it to a little paberball! Now how did he do that???
Many, many possibilities. Well done Mr Regal! Peo

As I see it the possibilities are endless. As somebody allready stated why not start with the Sudden Deck, then end with what Larry suggested above.
Maybe it also would work with Dean Dill's Blizzard, as the gaff's are almost the same. Peo

Peo, I like that idea! You sart with nothing, produce a "regular" deck, turn it into a solid deck, and return it to nothing.

There you go Larry. As I said, the possibilitis are endless. Let the brainstorming begin. Keep them ideas comming...
I really like the effect David has in the booklet, which I wont go much into here (buy the Disposable Deck and find out), that has to with theaterism and timing, and ends with a mild confused "What?" There must certinly be more like that to pump out of this.... deck... Peo
