The Leyser I saw at Blackpool was enormous so the one they currently market is the V2. The Midas that is currently on sale is, I believe, the final production version as opposed to the prototype. [/quote] That is total utter rubbish, I'm afraid Don. I appreciate the fact that you obviously have something aginst either me or my product as you have done nothing but slag it off and push the Midas since these products were ever mentioned. Even when I invited you to visit me as we live close and have a look at my new version personally you ignored my offer. Regarding calling the first version 'enormous' is in my oppinion a massive exaggeration. Now again I do appreciate the fact it is your oppinion, you are of course entitled to it, but in my oppinion, and if you look at me performing the effect live in front of many audiences and on TV on the website, if the gimmick was 'enormous' how could, as a professional I get away with it for so many years and performances. I was performing with this gimmick professionally much before I even considered actually selling the gimmick, and actually at the time it didn't even occur to me to sell it, to be quite honest, it was a good friend of mine who said I should market the idea. Now, as I think I mentioned before, it wasn't until you start selling it you get to know what your customers want, ( as you and your friends, the mentalism plus guys, have obviously just found out hence the remake of your so called prototype). Regarding your comments on the fact that I redesigned after the Midas was launched, is also in my oppinion total utter rubbish, because we did the redesign based on the sales done on my first version, we don't need a competitor to do our research for us, we had first hand experience of making and selling a product to the magic fraternity that gave us feedback. Regarding the price drop...that too had nothing to do with a competitor joining the market place, it was becuase we have bought the component parts and the materials in such large quantities that we bought the price down to a minimum, also there was less material needed in version 2 to version 1. My mark up stayed the same. I have now sold the exclusive rights to Magic Tricks.co.uk who have kept the price the same but added VAT. Also, just to clear up a few rumours on this Café, as far as I am aware there is not going to be a version 3 out in the near future. I am happy and personally use my Leyser 2020 version 2 ( the smaller version ) professionally and see no need for update at present. I hope that makes things a bit clearer for some. I must admit I am constantly amused by reading the posts and peoples reactions on this Café.I will continue to silently read your comments as now await for Tablehand magic to appear again with his sarcastic words of wisdom. I will now let you all continue to discuss the pros and cons of each product as I carry on developing my totally new electronic product which should be another gem for all you mentalists out there...I hope you like it...watch this space ;-) Thank you to all who have given constructive non biased reviews on all products, that is what people want I should imagine. There is now 4 different threads on this Café discussing the 2020, 2 threads on child's play and 2 on the Midas can they not be amalgmated into 1 as it must get quite confusing for readers! Anyway best wishes to all, Keelan

I've made the great error of purchasing both "Eye to Eye" and the Professonal version of "Eye to Eye." The items you must use seem quite contrived. And the handling, while supposedly can be covered by patter, seems quite strange. Particularly because to have an even remotely amazing effect, you must repeat it a number of times.
So my question: How exactly do you work around the fact that you must hold your wrists above their hands? I know there's a video, but I can't download it. Thanks, Platt

Get either Childs Play, or Leyser 2020, or Midas. No strange placement of someones hands.
Leyser 2020 and Midas can be done with any metal object,Childs Play can only be done with an object you supply. Bye Childs Play and then save up for Leyser or Midas. |

I think that leyser 2020 is no longer available, the sole uk supplier magictricks.co.uk has not had any stock of them for about a month, my e mail to keelan leysers website requesting information remains unanswered, so it appears that I cant buy one.
great shame because this was a great product, if keelan leyser is reading this please let us know whats happening with your wonderful 2020. |

Moreover, based on the history of the individual you mentioned I immediately nixed the idea of buying the item he's associated with which is being discussed in this thread. But quite apart from those considerations Leyser 2020 certainly would appear to be the hands-down (no pun intended) winner in terms of both economy as well as user-friendliness. With the money I'm going to save with my purchase of Leyser 2020 there are a number of other new effects (hooray for book tests!) I'm now tempted to buy with the $$ I'll save. Oh, one more thing: it also feels good, when buying the superior product among several alternatives, to know that one is supporting the creative forces who indeed originated the genre of product.

I myself no longer buy any mentalism products until I've at least tried to become a very well-informed consumer! In any case, hope you've been happy with your purchse! How have your performances using it gone?

You are also correct on what can be located, however, other owners of CPII have realize that the gimmick can be placed in many other objects, thus increasing the gamut of items that can be used. Child's Play 1 and II also will not detect rings except ones like the Wizard PK Ring, or similar, so you can perform it with any spectator that has rings or not. Hope that helps. |

I had four Leysers and found them to be completely useless, coin in hand routine, well a handfull of copper coins still only raised a small detection on all of the models I recieved and that was testing it on people with very thin hands and the gadget had to be touching the back of the persons hand too to recieve a reading and even then it usually failed, very hit and miss indeed, I would'nt bet money on a guessing style routine using a Leyser.
I've now bought a Midas but not had chance to test it yet, I'll let you know. I think a lot of the early talk last year on the Leyser was by people viewing the video dem and not actually buying one, it was the video dem that impressed me, but there was no way on earth I could perform the bottle cap in hand routine etc with any of the four Leysers, they just were not strong enough. I'm much more confident on the Midas, but like I said before, I'll let you know, as far as I know there are no more plans to make the Midas so if you want either of the models, the second hand market is going to be the place to buy one I think! Hi glen, - my oppinion would be;
1/midas, bit too fiddly, with wires running up arm, no longer produced, and a bit expensive. 2/childs play, - not very sensitive, only detects magnetic items. the wristwatch not nice imho. 3/ probe / rhinesense, will only read the RFID chipped items supplied with it, will NOT read coins etc, and it wont repeat the reading like the UFO2 will. - but good conveniant size, and all in one self contained unit. 4/UFO2, I just sold my much loved UFO2, its superb, except that its bulky and a fiddly hook up that you need to wear under your shirt and pants ! and of course again its an RFID reader, so only reads the supplied chipped items, not coins. and its just not confortable or conveniant. however, very very well made, and extreemly sensitive from the longest range compared to all the above. 5/ leyser 2020. - fabulous, but alas its made no more. - detects any ordinary ungaffed coins, and all metalic objects. easy and comfortable to wear, very quick to set up. overall 10 out of 10. - but as I said its no longer made. they now usually sell secondhand for about UK £100. however, the good news is that today I spoke with Keelan Leyser, he says he is soon to be bringing out a NEW leyser 2020 along with anouther new ground breaking electronic device, - sounds good to me, so my names on the waiting list now! Steve. |

I have Rhine sense/Probe and I like it, it read the chipped items very well even in a closed fist if you handle it well, but its best to put new batteries in before use in a paid show. Small and easy to wear but the vibration can be felt by the spectator and that I do not like about it. I have developed some routines whit envelopes and money and a nice murder theme... these play very well whit it and reactions are great and it´s easy to do...
I have Childs play but I just don´t like it. Not sensitive, not practical... I have Eye to Eye and I love it, when the time is right this will do the job very well. I love it because the gimmick is so simple and still so clever. I do use it whit the gimmick between my fingers or in the original place and sometimes both. I have about 7 gimmicks (Charles was so kind to provide me whit some extra gimmicks over the years) so there is always one with me (In my car, in my wife’s bag, in my wallet, in my case and more...) The good thing about between the fingers is the natural movements and it allows you and easy ditching. I can do spike, Charles version of karutsake (I still love the super simple Max Maven version for impromptu situations) and in which hand is the 100 Dollar (Euro) bill with nothing more than one bill... Now I bought Midas (Secondhand) for in which hand is the coin like Derren did and I hope it does what I need it for... I think these ´simple´ effect are so very important, maybe more than predicting the future or read someone’s mind just because so many people believe that you can really do it! BUT present it well… ;) |
