Where to buy Duck tape - your local hardware store. And get the proper stuff, the cheap brands have too much gooey glue on them, they make a right mess.
There are a few threads passim on this board on the subject of duct tape, try doing a search. |

I think Henry is actually talking about a site that used to exist which sold methods for escaping a full body cocoon of duck tape alongside a method for escaping a full body cocoon of gladwrap. Among others. I do not believe it is still around.

I think the method is called hard work.
I did a full-body mummy wrap of duct tape once. Only my mouth and nose were left exposed, and I had to chew my way out. It wasn't a fun escape, and that stuff tastes terrible. I do a 100% plastic-wrap escape regularly (since 1988). I've never seen a "method" for sale. Some folks have tried to copy it, when they never saw it, and only came up with a weak and not-believable routine. There's a thread here somewhere about it, from long before I joined the group. My version is also copyrighted.

Hi,
I have tried a partial body duct tape escape, and I did use more expensive tape, and from what Helen has said, it is well worth it. I am going to do another one of these escapes within the next month or so, making it a little harder next time. (More layers). Like Helen has told me, give it a shot and experiment. I have tried using industrial stretch wrap, different thickness, amounts applied, how it is applied (real tight to loose to both). From what I learned is you need leverage, ankles to shoulder laying down is very difficult, whereas knees to shoulders, standing is easier. More layers applied, the better the affect. I just tried an escape where you put layers of plastic wrap on, then tied with rope on top. Still trying to come up with an idea / act for the escape relay event. |
