Hi guys, I recently ran out of Zippo lighter fluid for my Fantasio candles and was wondering if I could use the barbecue lighter fluid we have in our house as a substitute?

You could, but I wouldn't. They are not the same thing.

I have used Rosenol(sp) and it works great for me.

I too have always preferred Rosinol myself. It is ewasy to find from its bright yellow bottle and blue cap. I use it for both my Fantasio candle and flaming wallet.

I also like it because the nozzle on it makes it quite easy for refilling candles etc. I also always make sure to keep any fire type of efects or supplies in a locked down metal container. This is for safety.

So is rosenol, rosinol or ronsonol (i don't know which is correct) a lighter fluid for lighters?

So you're all saying that bbq lighter fluid is not suitable to use? Only the lighter fluid for lighters.

That's correct, its not the same thing. It will ruin your candles and it can be dangerous. Stick to lighter fluid (naptha)

I would not use any old lighter fluid. I am quite partial to Rosonal. The reason why I like Ronsonal lighter fluid is that it burns cleaner, with less of a smell than other lighter fluids.

I don't know if you guys realize also that the Zippo fluid seems to burn hotter than the Ronsonol fluid. at least in my experience
