Hello everyone,
This is just a quick fun note to let everyone hear a lesson I learned yesterday. This is a good example of a time when practicing magic is a BAD idea. I had 16 teeth extracted on Monday (preparing for dentures) and yesterday tried to go over my Cups & Balls routine while under the full effects of Vicadin (narcotic). I'm glad I wasn't filming that one! Not only could I not pull off the sleights...I actually dropped the--no, not a ball...not a cup...not even the wand. I dropped (well, knocked over) the table! Next time I'm medicated I'm going to bed. I guess this just goes to show why you shouldn't drink when performing where alcohol is served...even if the host/boss offers to buy you one.
I need a stage name.

Joe,
I laughed MAO at that one! Ha! I, myself will be going under the Nitrous in a hour or so to get two abscessed molars removed...Vicadin...not familiar with that (or many drugs for that matter)...I'll try not to pick up my cards or coins, LOL...(probably couldn't ANYway under the influence of that stuff...) I'd avoid practicing if there is a possiblity that others may see you...also (I posted this in the past), avoid practicing in front of the bathroom mirror if the "seat" is up! I once had to go "fishing", and it was not pleasant! Also, practicing while SLEEPING....not recommended! LOL! Doug |

LOL.. That's funny.
I had a similar situation. After I had a couple teeth pulled I stood up with a mouth full of the cotton. One of the dentists aids recognized me and asked me if I'd do a trick for some of the other workers there. I just looked at her and shook my head with as much as an annoyed smile as I could give. I'm glad she realized how silly her request was. Ron Jaxon |

Well, I did promise to go back once I get the dentures in (so I can smile) and give a free show to the entire dental clinic. After all, they're performing about $3000 worth of oral surgery for free!
I did however promise the ADA I'd give a PSA about tooth care at all my childrens' shows.
I need a stage name.

Always nice to hear an embarrasing story or two, makes one feel less self-concious about our own screw ups!
I'm suprised you could say "cups and balls" on Vicodin... |

This I must know more about, seriously. Straight barter for the PSA? |
