Have a look at four dice chink-a-chink and doctor's sack dice routine, both on daryl's foolerdoolers vol. 3. I think they're both stunning effects, totally impromptu, though requiring a bit of sleight of hand.

Dice Stacking and dicapitating, and everything within, and also any sort of Sach's Dice. Sach's Dice is my favorite type of Impromptu trick.

I remember seeing a trick in one of Daryl's tapes (Foolers Doolers) a three dice routine... very nice. I think it belongs to Vernon.

Charlie Frye's "Eccentrics" DVD has a dice routine that starts with a dice "matrix" routine where you could swear you see the fourth die right up until it appears under the other card. Oh yes, not only that, it's all choreographed so the spots are all correct as they travel.
He finishes up with dice stacking, on the table, on his forehead, and finally the dice vanish out of the cup only to reappear in his pocket!

Chink-a-chink is very good and tons easier with dice than sugar cubes

Okay, not the "Holy Grail" of magic, but pick up "Snake Eyes"(Burgoon) It's a fun interlude (for the right spectator). I got my money's worth the first time I tried it.

I like to do barehanded matrix's with dice cuz they are so easy to pick up into a palm, unlike coins.

I've never used the five sided dice but I could imagine you could make up a smashed die finish for a Dice Through the Table routine. I use it as an extra finish in the dice stacking routine I do. I make it to match the standard Vegas dice, unlike the poor quality prop made by Guaranteed Magic it actually looks like a flattened Vegas die.

There is a trick with two dice where you talk about the "rule of 14", which is that the sum of the numbers on the top and bottom of the two dice always add up to 14. In the trick, while you are explaining this rule, all of a sudden the dice appear to start violating the rule, and then it appears that the numbers on the faces of the dice keep switching places. And the dice are ungimmicked.
Don't know what this one is called, but it's a great trick. |

Ashah, you are referring to the Sack's Dice Routine by Dr. Sack. It is a very clever and fun routine. I use the version from Dary's Fooler Doolers 3.
