I will renew. WMD is killer. Ron Bauer's two articles are great and all of Steven's stuff is excellent. I think the upcoming contest will give a great routine.

I was wondering where the link for "Passes for the masses" cd went? I would like to buy that.

Anyway, I think it's an excellent value and I will certainly renew.

Just a question to some individuals:

I think we all agree that WMD, Punken Droker were very great and worth the money.

But this is not asking whether you think it was worth the money(I certainly do), but whether you would renew.

Do you think that there is going to be another WMD-level article? Another Punken Droker-level one?

I think that is an important question(because everyone agree's that WMD is by itself worth the money, but that isn't the question).

Any thoughts?

Steven? any idea what is planned in the future?

Sir-- the only place you can currently get the Pass CD is at H & R Magic Books:

http://www.magicbookshop.com/

Do a search under "Youell" and you'll see it.

I do not know if any more will be produced.

For what its worth, I will renew. The reward has been higher than the risk this far and I don't expect that to start to fade.

Yes, I have some thoughts. But first, please let me vent.
If someone has a problem with ANY of my products or material,
I would sincerely appreciate it if they would *at least*
contact me in private before taking it public.

Heck, I don't even know if I'm going to DO another 6 months.

You can't please all the people all the time and this project
will never be limited to effects, routines & sleights. Ever.

I told each one of my Contributing Editors that they would have
"Protected Speech", and then defined it like this:

"You can write about anything you want regarding Card Magic.
History, Opinion, Routines, Theory, etc. The only thing I ask
is that whatever you write will never require me to hire more
than one lawyer."

Giving authors this type of "Protected Speech" has another
implication: deadlines are tough. See, some of the things
these people want to write or otherwise communicate aren't
just laying around waiting to be published. Most of it is
being created *specifically* for Cogitations from scratch.
And they have to balance the time they spend working on
their contribution with making a living and other aspects
of their personal life.

These folks don't just agree to send a contribution and then
e-mail me something-- they *think* about it. Almost without
exception what they send is *important* to them.

The value here is that you get to learn how people like Ron
Bauer, Paul Chosse, Darwin Ortiz and others *think* and *what*
they think *about* in terms of Card Magic. That's what the
term "Cogitations" means -- earnest meditations.
Who wouldn't understand the value in that in terms of Art?

24 Weeks = 24 Articles. That's less than a buck for each article.

For those of you who wish to keep score:

17 Articles so far:

7 Articles are or contain complete routines.
5 Articles are or contain finesse's on Card Sleights -- Many with video illustrations!
5 Articles are op/ed pieces.

AND WMD is not considered one of the articles!

I think that's a pretty good mix. And without exception, everytime
a new article is posted, the subscribers are notified....!

So that's what Cogitations is about-- thanks for listening!

"Heck, I don't even know if I'm going to DO another 6 months."

Speaking for myself, I hope that's not the case Steven. As far as I'm concerned, I have definitely gotten my money's worth. I'm not even close to getting through everything that's on Cogitations now.
Just give me a heads up when my renewal is due. Count me in.

Also, everyone should know there are 2 great *new* articles up, the Bob Farmer piece is gold, and the other is a good take on a great old effect, which is a perfect lead-in to many other effects involving apparent estimation.

I do feel I have gotten more than my $20's worth out of cogitations, there have been some great articles.

I hope that Steven does put out another 6 months and can notify us all with what's in the works, so we can all make an informed decision with the renew, hopefully the subscribtion base will only grow with the next 6 months.

If we only get updates once a month...I won't be renewing.

I hope Steve can find the time to update each WEEK or at
a minimum BI-WEEKLY.

I hope he's listening...

I have enjoyed my subscription greatly. Logging in every
now and again is exciting....if I find something new. Logging
in every three or four days and finding nothing for going on
a month is a real drag.

I enjoy the underground video downloads and their commentary the
most. However there have been a few manuscripts I was proud to
get and study.

My 20 bucks is ready...I hope to be impressed with regular updates
very very very shortly...

Currently the only article I'm waiting on is Paul Chosse's response to
all the questions I asked him. It's not Paul's fault-- I asked him over
20 questions and he's answering them thoroughly. It's a lot of writing,
so it's taking longer than I thought it would. You can expect to see
a large portion of the material posted next week.
