Of course, its probably hard for you to see with the wool pulled over your eyes. Then again, drummers break drumsticks, I don't know what that makes them. Maybe kindling manufacturers.

Not the one I had. It had a cocking mechanism and fired by pushing a release button which was machined into one of the tips. I may have a picture of it someplace. I'll check. -=tabman

I have to say that the wooden tipped wand you made for me is one of the nicest ones I have in my collection. I am honored that you have chosen to feature that style on your web site.

To Sir Bill Palmer, I don't know what to say. That's doggone nice of you, I really appreciate it especially in light of all the wonderful pieces you have.
There are at least a dozen magicians now using a Tabman made Bill Palmer style wand now. How does it feel to be immortalized in wood???? -=tabman

Spring loaded???
Yes, compression. Ive never seen another like it. I sold it to someone some years ago. It was with a pile of stuff I bought at the auction to get Barclay's Cremation props which Kozak had wanted me to buy for the show. I've still got another of Barclay's wands. It's a metal tube, chromed, with the center painted black, maybe like a towel rod or a chrome pipe. -=tabman

The guys at the shop sold me some caps that they said they thought would work with it, although they didn't seem all that sure, and as far as I can tell, they don't... they are too big to fit in the receptacle, and the chemical is too far down in the cap. They are little red caps, closed on one end, open on the other, with a small white disk of chemical inside. Anyone know what kind of caps will actually work with this thing? Cheers, Allan

Hey Brother... I just received one of your wandsas a gift. A very special and cool gift! I'm a worker and I beat the hell out of my cups. I have used several wands over the years and I really like the one I have that has your name on it. I was wondering... It is the one that has the wood tips and the brass rings down from the ends an inch or two. Here's the question. As I was beating my cups over the past couple of days, show after show, I noticed that I am denting the rings. Am I in any danger of the rings flying off. I don't know how they are attached, so I thought I'd better right and check with the creator. The hammered brass look is looking pretty good. Thanks for the great wand and I'm having a ball with it. You know, it does make a difference what kind of want you are using, both from my stand point and the audience's. You can drop me an answer here or PM me. Your call. Keep doing what you are doing! |

Thank you Brother Paul. I don't know if those rings will come off or not. Anything made by man can be broken of course. I bet they do look good hammered, I might do one with hammered ferrules, great idea.
Also, if it does come off, send it to me and I will fix it and send it back. I guarantee ALL my work for my lifetime, or at least as long as Im able to continue to work. Thanks again for the kind words and I hope you continue to use it in good health. All the best to you, -=tabman

Tabby and Paul,
I had my "third" ring on my tabman wand come loose after about 10 years or so. (probably the dry Vegas climate eventually did it in) I was able to work in some "Gorilla Glue" underneath the ring and slip it back into place. Gorilla Glue expands as it dries, so it filled any gaps beautifully and it hasn't slipped since.

Thanks for the tip VanVranken... I love that Gorilla Glue stuff. It fixes almost anything. I put a door back together on my boat last year. If it breaks again, I know it'll be in a different spot.
Tabman: I will continue to use this wand. Works well and spins good. Looks great too. The right length for the flip stuff. Keep up the good work. |

By the way -=tabman... What kind of wood is that wand made of? It's the one with the bands on each end about an inch from the ends. The wood may have been burned to look like snake skin, or something like that.
I do have a loose ring on one end after todays banging, but don't worry about that it's a good wand. The problem is me. I have had magic dealers send me stuff to use in my show to see how long it will hold up to real world work. I'm not kind to my props and to tell you the truth, I try, but I bang things around. I just cracked a cup from my last Charlie Miller set. I didn't even know that cups could crack. So with a ring that is slipping a little, I'm not concerned. It is still one of the best wands that I've used in a long time. Don't stop doing what you are doing. Home Depot has the Gorilla Glue. It is pretty miracle stuff... It does expand when you use it, so be ready to wipe and use just a little at a time. |

Well, I sure respect wand makers, just tried to make my first wand images and image links below
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/1218/2005106230116ul.jpg http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/81/200506230183kj.jpg HOLY CARP! THose pics are HUGE! I wish I knew how to size them down... looks like your just going to have to copy paste the link tabman and all you other wand makers are sure good at making wands. I think I'll stick to making magic tricks for an audeince dimensions 16 inch! 1-.5 inch diameter materials include: Drum Stick, electricians tape, copper wire, steal wire and key chain like thing.

I'm having a hard time deciding where to get my wand, tabman, adessoverlag (bill) or local dealer. I like supporting my local dealer but I think he carries a few a little to expensive becuase of quality and the plastic ones...
