I am looking for an extremely popular song in the magic industry. David Copperfield, Alain Choquette, and Gary Oullet all perform the Macdonald's Aces routine to a song from the Warner Brothers movie "Cousins" which was released in the spring of 1989. It was originally released on tape, vinyl, and CD. However it became unavailable four. I need track 12 from this soundtrack, "Love Theme From Cousins." It is written by Angelo Badalamenti. I would love to find it in any format (MP3, CD, Tape WHATEVER!)
PLEASE HELP!
Magically Yours,

Well, I do have that piece in MP3 format. However, I do feel you don´t want to use it with the same trick.

I believe that this track is also available online from certain Copperfield fan websites. What did you want to use this song for?

The Song is from the movie "Cousin". Go and get the soundtrack and you'll find plenty of great music in that cd.

Enjoy... Smile

I have had the best luck at using Kazza (sp?) media player. It is very similar to the old Napster. You can download just about anything you want. I can't find the website right now. But, I will post it when I find it.

Good Luck,
Mike

Go to allisonsbackstage.com and click on the Copperfield unofficial fan site. Then click on mp3 of the moment and go into the archives.

Just a quick remark on mike_york´s post:

They might have that kind of track on kazaa or gnutella or any other service like that, but I´d like to give you a fact you should take into consideration:

Downloading files from there may not necessarily be legal! And on the other hand it is even unethical!!!

I understand that we magicians are very protective when it comes to our secrets. Now imagine, anyone could just download secrets on an open exchange service like kazaa and others. Wouldn´t that freak the magic community out?!

I´m sure you can obtain this particular song in a more "legal" way. Just think about the rights of those musicians/writers/producers, whose work is not beeing sold well in stores anymore these days, since anybody and their grandma just downloads it from the web.

No hard feelings, just a general thought to think about, mike..!

You also need to realize that Copperfield and Gary had their version edited so that it fit with the illusion. Consider talking your way through the illusion. It sounds like you need the illusion music now. What is the rush?

Why not use something more original? If Copperfield is using it and others, I would want to add my own style to it, making it more memorable for the audience...

The Copperfield site is very good. I have downloaded all 47 songs. Some I would never use and others are awesome.

Howdy Yall,
I really like the way this music sounds on the Poltergiest demo at tilfordillusions.com but I do not know the name of it. Perhaps one of you might?

Thanks,
Steve

Hello to all you people out there,
I have very strong feelings about downloading tracks, especially when your using them in a proffesional context, GO AND BUY IT! Hopefully you do pay for a PRS license to use material in your show!?! Lets not get a reputation for stealing music, the music industrys in enough crisis as it is, and I also don't know if the moderators of the site would be happy with post like that about downloading + emailing tracks!
