Hi all,
Has anyone purchased Daryl's new ropes for JKOP (it now also comes with a DVD). I am primarily interested in a review on the quality of the ropes supplied as they are suppose to be better and thicker than the original ones he used to sell. Thanks, Ray http://www.raywongmagic.com When Magic Went WONG!

How new I am not sure. Daryl switched shortly after originally selling this product to the knitted style ropes. This was many years ago. I do not know of any other newer ropes he is supplying.
The knitted ropes solved the problem of painting on normal rope. |

The new ropes are still the knitted ones, however they are a little thicker and heavier. They are nicer than the last ones, but I still prefer the original ropes.

Hi Ray:
If you want a really, really good set, I suggest you have Pavel custom-make you a set. I had him make me a a Knotty-Knot rope, which is almost exactly the same as Daryl's Jumping Knot. It is a thing of beauty - only cost me about $40.00 for the beautiful, thick rope rope that Pavel uses. I believe the best way to contact him is through his website - http://www.pavelmagic.com Ron |

Thanks everyone!
I hope I can buy the new ropes separately without the DVD. The old knitted ropes he was selling before are a bit too thin for my liking. Ray

Daryl's newly packaged routine with DVD is called Daryl's Acrobatic Knot. The ropes is thick and "fluffy". I think its great! Its not like other ropes where the ropes and thin and somewhat tight.
Ray, about getting the rope separately, why don't you try contacting Daryl himself. Or you can try Magicwarehouse and go under the Ropes section. I'm not sure it is the same material Daryl uses but its worth asking. Hope this helps |

I have the "old" ropes and they are beautifully made and plenty thick IMHO. However, if thicker is important to you, then go for the "new and improved".
By the way, I have Daryl's explanation of JKOP on an old A-1 video on Daryl's Encyclopedia of Rope Magic. I had to watch it several times to get the moves, because I had trouble figuring it out with the written instructions. |

Thanks HAZ... I'm assuming you bought this newly packaged "Acrobatic Knot" (with DVD) and yes, I have contacted Daryl and am waiting for his reply. Any further comments are welcomed.
Thanks Bill. Actually I have bought several (4-5) of Daryl's JKOP over the years as I use it all the time. A couple of the sets wore out very easily and even when they were brand new, were not thick or fluffy at all. My current set which I've had for 2 years is excellent and with a quick soap and water cleaning and once over with a fuzz remover, IS as good as new. Perhaps unknowingly in the past, I purchased a couple of "knock-off" sets from a unscrupulous dealer(s) OR perhaps sometimes the quality of Daryl's JKOP stock will vary from time to time, depending on who his current manufacturers are. I'm not sure. For those of you who would like to learn this routine, I would recommend the video/DVD as the moves are not easy.

Yes I bought this packaged effect with the DVD. I never liked ropes until I saw Daryl's version of Pavel's Acrobatic Knot. Its just a joy to watch! And just like what Daryl always say, "you end clean!".

I was advised by Daryl that if you specify you don't want the DVD, you can buy just the rope for $30.00 plus shipping.

I have the old A-1 video and I love the routine. I might have to purchase the ropes so I can start doing it.

I prefer (and I've had both) the original Pavel...both the effect and the ropes.
