Does anybody here perform this effect? If so what version do you do?
Also does anybody here perform "Aces for My Exam"? and if so what version do you perform? Just curious. I have not seen these effects on any postings yet, and I have been a member for over a year. Before you say "try the search engine". I already have.

This may not assist, but it was performed by "Spain's celebrated card wizard Arturo de Ascanio" who died in 1997, according to the following link

Theres a great video of this trick on MVD, just go to the top rated section. It's like the second to highest rated video on the site, its in the upper nines.

These two routines were created by the great mind of Arturo De Ascanio. Recently the first book with his magic has been released in English.
The Restless Lady and Aces For My Exam among others could be found in the third volume. I hope that it will be release in English soon. Also, as Ryay said, you could see a beautiful version of The Restless Lady effect in http://www.magicvideodepot.com, performed by Twins (Arnaud). All the best magic, Pablo Tejero

Some of Arnaud´s handling is inspired directly in Ascanio like the "enseñada sincera" ¿honest display? and so on, other movements are different from Arturo´s version also.
But I could remember that in his book, there are four different version of the Restless Lady. All the best magic, Pablo Tejero

What is it that Arnaud does to his cards to make them easier to handle? I know he couldn't perform like he does without doing something to the cards and when I asked him about how he kept everything so clean, he smiled and winked.

Arnould told that he didn't use anything on his cards. If this is true... we all need to think more on this subject.
All the best, :bluebikes: Mesquita Here is a post that Twins put on The Magic Café some time ago: Quote:

Egads! That was good!
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

I can tell you that arnaud does NOT use anything to help his cards stick. take a look at the invisible palm aces he does, I think its the highest rated video on the site. You could swear hes using something to help him, but I saw a tutorial he made teaching how he does the trick, and in it were some of the techniques he uses to maintain the doubles. about that spread that he does, the reason it isn't even is because of the way he spreads the cards, I cant go into detail without exposing it. but take my word for it he uses nothing but cards. and if you watch his restless lady routine carefully, you can figure out every move he does, its not so hard to do. but for laypeople its simply baffling.

I watched the MVD video of Arnaud doing the "Restless Lady". I know how he does this effect. My question is when he does the s*** c*****. Because it is angle sensitive I do not think you can do this with more than one person, face to face. Can anybody out there come up with an alternative to the s*** c*****. I have been thinking of doing a tenkai palm s*** c*****. Although the Tenkai Palm is also angle sensitive but less so if the card is placed on the table.

Sure, I myself simply use a paintbrush change. it accomplishes the same thing.

Ryay, Don't you think that by doing the paintbrush change twice in the same effect it would detract from the surprise visual of the card changing? In other words the specs would know that a card change is coming having seen once already. I don't know maybe I'm over analyzing this.

This is a beautiful card effect I have been performing it for over 4 years.I just looked at Twins at MVD and his is nice but there is a reversed card when the spread is laid out I just lap this card before the spread to end clean.

This can be found in 1 of Ascanios books, which at the moment is in Spanish, but with help from a Spanish friend and pictures, we figured this one out after a long while and now I perform it and man it blows the spectator away, especailly the change of queens at the end

But, How many of you guys/girls use this in your material? do any of you people acually perfrom this effect(other than paula prestige). I gather from the lack of response that none of you really perform this effect. I don't know maybe I'm jumping to conclusions here.
thanks edh

I don't sippose that many people perform it as the effect is written in spanish, however, since I learnt it, I now perform it to good reactions

I use the routine in some of my shows. It dependes, because this kind of effects, needs a magical enviroment to be done, the reactions then are great.
But I don´t use any of the four versions released by Ascanio, because I have got my own handling. All the best magic, Pablo Tejero
