Here's another idea. A padded bag for cups.

I have them made at the shop where my other leather products are
made. I drew up a simple design, and turned it over to the
expert to make.

In fact, Bill Malone called me and bought the first one.

you can order them from my website if interested.

all the bags I've used before are cheaply made, even if they look nice,
come un-threaded, and none are padded. I don't like my nice cups
clanking around between shows. These are suede, padded, and lined with a satin-type
fabric. The ring closure looks great and takes away the need for the pesky strings that come apart or get lost.

Wow... Pretty blue bags. I think they look pretty sharp and the ring was a great idea. Great job.

Nice stuff Frank. I'll have to get some cups!

I like your tables. Are the legs on the table removable or do they collapse? Looks like since they are sold seperate they are removable.

What is the situation while carting a table around a close-up environment? Easy?

John,
the table and the legs are separate units.
the legs are just a very nice restaurant tray stand.

Some work is being done to see how to make the legs with the table as an option. not sure if it is necessary. Besides, tabman already makes some great tables that fit that model.

For now, to carry the table around, you would have to pick up the table and legs separately like a waiter would do in a restaurant.

there are easy modifications you could make to keep the two together but one reason they are made like this is that the underside of my tables are covered in colorful formica for dice stacking.

thanks for the nice comments about my products.

I've modified my waiter's stand based on Cellini's "Royal Touch" book, and what I saw in the Gazzo videos.

Some screw eyes in the ends of the cross pieces now work as anchor points for a spare shoulder strap from some old luggage. I found a couple of bent metal brackets that I had in my tool box and wrapped them in electrical tape and fastened them to two of the legs on one side. Now I can collapse the stand, and I have a bracket that holds the table top against the legs. I take off the adjustable straps that I use for the top of the stand and use them to hold the top in place. Sling the strap over my shoulder and I'm ready to go!

Yes, very sooooooft.
and cuddly too!

With the latest batch, I had a few made to fit the gazzo sized cups too.
Just got those in today.
This batch has more of a purple satin interior instead of blue.

Dave, when you get yours, tell me if they're the right size for your gazzos, ok?

If you're still waiting to get one, what are you waiting for? Frank's right, black looks great with the purple lining! The suede leather feels almost like velvet, and is much tougher! My Gazzo Super Animals are resting comfortably in mine right now.

Went to the local dollar store and found a nice black sleeve container, with a zipper around the top inch or so, used for a water bottle, even has a belt clip. This is a nice size for my cups and balls and can be clipped to belt. It does not look cheap, that's what caught my eye and works excellent. Could be sold on ebay for who knows what Smile

Sounds like a clip-on water bottle holder.

Allow me to explain my thinking on "containers".

I think they should look as non-commercial as possible.

As a magician, especially one that performs professionally, you should not
look like you just went shopping at REI and you're about to go rock climbing
with all sorts of outdoorware hanging by your belts, etc.

I bought a nikon lens case to carry thing in and though it was perfect, I'm getting rid of it. Because it is recognizable.

Disneyland does something similar. When you're there, you cannot see outside the park. Nothing reminds you of "the real world" when you're there. No dumpsters, trash, clocks.

I also use an eyeglasses case for my 3-shell game. An idea from our vinsmagic, I believe. My first one, though perfectly functional, had a designer logo on it. Boo! I kept using it until I found a "aligator" embossed black leather case with no logo on it at all.

Anyway, that's my thinking. I either have things made, or I search around for old, strange containers to hold everything.

I, too, go to the dollar store and there are some containers that I use every week and for virtually every show that came directly from the dollar store. But nobody ever sees them. They stay inside my lefler pro table and fit perfectly inside the shelf. Nothing could be better. 3 fit side by side and store all my routines.
Guess how much they cost? Smile

The link is in my profile...

I put all my pouches and bags on that page.
purple is the color of the interior of all the bags right now.

We have quite a bit of the fabric so I don't see that color changing
anytime soon.

Wow, the eyeglass case, what a great idea. I have a few and for some reason my eyes fixed themselves and I don't wear glasses anymore (except readers) so the cases are dying for a reason to live.

Here's a first cut at the Padded "Jester" Bags.
Originally meant to hold Cups and Balls safely.
Black and White with the standard Purple interior.

Obviously these take a lot more work but they're cool looking.
If there's interest, I'll do a batch.
It will most likely have larger diamonds than this.

I really, really like these, Frank. Is a ballpark price available yet? The really would lend them to a tell of jesters and jugglers in the market square a la Heironymous Bosch's art. I'm revising my cups and balls routine into teaching piece about the time of Reginald Scot and the persecution of "magicians".

Makes two things to buy from you next month.

Yes, the price will be $49.
handmade from soft durable leather with satin interior.
Large enough to hold gazzo size cups, fine size for smaller cups
as well.

I'm going to have one batch made and see how they do. If you're interested,
PM me or email me.

I just had a couple more of these made with a larger diamond pattern.
I'm not sure which I like better.

I'll try to post some pix. If you're interested, let me know.

Everybody seems to like the smaller diamond pattern better than the larger pattern.
So I'll just be doing the smaller patterns from now on.

I also have the regular padded bags for jim riser's mini cups.
