Hey I just got mine in the mail today but the instructions are hard does anyone have a demo or an easier way to learn this. Ive looked everywhere and I can't find anything. Any visual would work.

I don't know of any video of this online, but I do know you can get it from the instructions. I remember having a great deal of trouble learning it from the instructions, but if you put in the time, you'll know when you have it. I know this isn't quite what you wanted, but I promise that if you just sit down with the bands for awhile, maybe while watching tv, you will get it. Good luck.

The instructions are a puzzle but as Chris says, it will come. Read the instructions very slowly. Once you have it you will use it a lot but I find it best as the finale of 2 or 3 Band effects using the Stargazer band as a normal band but keeping it under tension all the time hence when you produce the star it looks extra amazing as 'they' are convinced you were using normal bands.

I think everyone who got this trick had trouble with the instructions. Because the intructions were complicated, I made up a completely different routine using the rubber band, but the end result was still the same. As the previous threads, just keep working at it and it will come in time.

Patter suggestion might be children learning shapes and colors, or turning art (shapes) into reality

Sounds good but I am a street and close-up. I don't really deal with kids.

Congradulations on deciphering Alan Wong's directions. I also had three days of paceing the floor before I figured it out. The critical point in the instructions is step #4 there are many ways to do step #4, but only one correct way. If step #5 falls into a triangle you have it, if it doesn't fall into a triangle you must go back and redoo step #4, everything else kinda falls into place. As far as the patter is concerned you will develop your own from watching people respond to your performance, so don't just practice it, show it to everybody. Good Luck Al Angello (and thank you Alan Wong)

Hello Paisa, I have mentioned this before. At the appropiate time, I ask a Lady "Can I make you a Star tonight"? Then of I go with Stargazer. They are always relieved that they have no part to play other than receive a gift, so the Ladies reception is generally more than the effect deserves. Always goes down very well, love it.

That is a fabulous intro, and I will use it along with making them blow on the second star, and tell them "when you wish upon a star your dreams will come true" for the big finish. It will work equally well with adult women, or little girls. Tanks Al Angello

That is a pretty sweet demo, that's how I have been doing it.

The stage before the star reveal, I pull the bands into an arrow shape then 'shoot' it into the star.

I've never actually seen the effect performed, but I've struggled through the process and instructions to learn it...upon seeing it performed in real life. I must say that it's a really cool effect, when it's done smoothly. I think I'll practice this again.

You can see the effect performed on http://www.magicshop.ch
Just type in "star gazer" in the search field and you can download a video with the performance. That should help you understanding the instructions better. |

I, too, had a hard time reading through the instructions...I guess it's easier if you already know how to make a star with a rubber band...
But you can call me a person deprived off his childhood coz I have no idea how to make a star, and had to look very, very carefully at the instructions before I finally got it... It'll help if you actually look at the tiny arrows in the picture, pointing where the fingers should go... Anyway, great trick! well done Alan! |

AHA!! It seems I found the right place. I’ll have to check out the demos tomorrow. I had no problems teaching myself calculus in grad school, but can’t seem to make any sense of these instructions
