Ok, I just got my candle today and when I try to collapse it it gets stuck about halfway down. I realize that this is because it is new. What tips do you guys have to loosen the candle up so that I can make my appearing candle seem to vanish? I also have a vanishing candle but no problems with that so far.

Twist it some counter clockwise before you start feeding it into itself.
You want to start with a large opening at the base of the candle.
If the opening starts too small there won't be enough room to feed all the candle in. Hope this helps

Thanks Daniel. That helps. Is there anything though that after I make it appear I can make it vanish smoother, without twisting? I feel like if I make it appear and then begin to twist it, people are going to look at me like, "why is he twisting this candle?" Maybe just opening and closing it a few times to "break it in" will help? Please keep the tips coming. Thanks again.

P.S. This is my 100th post!!!!!

I have had mine for about 2 weeks now and now I just put my fingers either side of the wick on top and push down, it goes straight down with no problems, at the start, I just fed it half way down till it jammed, not to much, then pulled it up a little bit and then back down, that seemed to do the trick, but now there is no need to. what cover are you using to vanish it? daz

If you want to appear and then also vanish a candle, the best way to go is by using a Fantasio vanishing candle instead of an appearing one. It tends to work much better and is smoother and allows for much more diversity of effects. With the vanishing candle, you can make it appear or vanish easily. Hope this might help.

You are absolutely right Kyle, a fantasio vanishing candle works best for both an appearing , and vanishing candle. Jim, as you start with fantasio products I reccommend the Fantasio Book, if you don't already have it. Chris Reesman ( of Encore Magic) refferes to it as the bible for fantasio. Then you see some great examples of what you can do with your canes and candles. I have had some great magical moments from my canes and candles, I hope you do to... Smile

I agree with Kyle. It's much more easier to appear and vanish a candle with the vanishing candle. You can use a silk to make it appear pretty easily.

Indeed they are right... The appearing candle isn't designed to make "vanish". I too have a vanishing candle, and use a silk to make it appear. I light it, blow it out and vanish it. PM me if your interested in my handling.

The appearing candle is just, as the name suggests, an appearing candle. Whereas the disappearing candle can be more versatile because you can either have it displayed already and make it disappear. Or you can make it appear then later on make it dissapear.

Hi again everyone!

I reccomend getting other fantasio products, otherwise you have an appearing candle and make it appear in a fancy way... What next ? I mean you really have to do something else. Why not get another product. As mentioned before, Vanishing Candle? If you do this you will have a great routine Good Luck!

I have both the appearing and vanishing candle and a pretty nice routine worked out with it. I realise the vanishing candle is better for the vanishing and re-appearing, my original post just questioned how to get the appearing candle to loosen up when closing. I just messed around with it for a little while and it eventually loosened. Thanks for everything guys!!
