As this vid is mainly cards, I think this post belongs here.
I saw recently listed on Ebay what I thought was the actual video for sale - then I read the small print. This loser is actually selling THE SECRET ANSWER to access DB's website in order to only be able to purchase the video from DB direct for £35. The bidding is around £12 at the moment with a couple of hours to go. I wonder if people think they are bidding on the actual video? How unscrupulous can people be? Or is it just me. Go and do a search for The Devils Picturebook on Ebay and see what I mean. I've a good mind to alert Ebay to this nasty practice. What would Derren say? |

I recently spotted a pdf version of Pure Effect on ebay so I informed Derren's management team about it.
Got an email back a few weeks later saying thanks. They didn't include any tickets for his show or anything though. Lucky I went to see it before anyway. |

I liked Pure Effect.
Has anyone read the other book? Absolute Magic?

I have emailed Derren to alert him to this - but what can be done to combat this flagrant abuse? RK It went for £21!! That's for the answer to the 'secret' question. I'm sure the winning bidder thought he was getting the video for £21. If I had any hair, I'd be pulling it out! Jeeez! |

That has to be the most retarded thing I've ever heard of.
Like he says on his site, unless you have enough knowledge to answer the question, the video is no use to you. And you're just dumb if you pay £21 for the password then £35 for the video just to learn secrets.

Can I just reassure people that the copy of the Devils Picturebook that I'm selling on ebay at the moment is the genuine tape!!!:)
I've heard of the password being sold on e-bay before, as miniserb said you'd have to be pretty crazy to pay £21 for a password and then £35 for an admitedly excellent video! |

Is he openly stating it's the password in large type or does he do what most of the scumbags do and add it somewhere in small writing along side lots of other small writing and stuff that you only skim through?

Sounds like somebody who is a Derren Brown wannabe from watching his TV series, The Devils Picturebook won't really help them though!
Derren does make a comment on his website and in his books about non-magicians wanting to learn his effects from TV. |

If I had heard about this earlier I would send a pm to all the ebayers to tell them to cancell their bids and I'll let them know free. Then I wouldn't.

Unfortunatly people do this all the time!
People also often sell wholesale website links for phones and will lead people to believe they are getting the actual phone. It is horrible and I have seen people pay up to £350 around $700 for a link! Ebay will not do anything about it becuase they make lots of money. They believe that if there is print, no matter how small then that is fine! It is wrong, but they ain't gonna listen to anyone! Steve Dela |

My opinion on the ebay thing(after once alerting a bidder who was willing to pay £30 for cheek to cheek deck)is if people are thick enough to not read and understand the ads,or bid for passwords and links..then more fool them.I got nasty emails from seller and ebay when I intervened. So I don't bother now.
