...a character from one movie appeared in another?
This is a game we have played a lot. I'll give a few examples here, so take it away guys! If Dr. Doolittle was in "Outbreak" he'd charmed that dang monkey out of the woods and the whole movie would've never happened! If John McClane from "Die Hard" had been in "Sleepless in Seattle" the whole charming romance thing in the Empire State Building would've been much more interesting, yet not so romantic. If Nurse Ratched from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" had been in "Patch Adams", humour would have become extinct and Robin Williams lobotomized.

I don't know how well this will fit, but years ago I was in a movie theater watching "the china syndrome" at the end is a scene where the press is all outside the reactor and the reactor begins to break down. I had a thought that one of the reporters should be Clark Kent from the Daily Planet, and you can guess the rest.

If the Wolfman had been in a Frankenstein movie... wait, that's already happened...
If Alien had been in a Predator movie... wait, that's already happened, too... If Jason from "Friday the Thirteenth" had been in a Freddy Kruger movie... wait, that's already happened, too... (crap!) I'll be back...

See Michael? Someone else has played this game as well? lol
We have at time played "horror sequel" which is basically what you just did Here's a few I've written down: "Beverly Hills Die Hard" John McClane teams up with Axel Foley to crack a mystifying case of faked Gucci sunglasses appearing all over Beverly Hills. Our heroes get occasional help from J-P Gaultier, known in the circles as "G". In the finale the heroic duo battles the masterminds of evil, Dolce & Gabbana. "Lord of the Flies: The Two Islands" A plane full of Elves and Hobbits crashes at sea and the passangers get stranded on two islands, fighting each other almost daily, craving the title "sole survivor". Conveniently two persons were allready at the islands, a anorexic bloke named "Gollum" and a mysterious strider named Jeff Probst. They watch over the games and send everyone away one by one in a chilling ritual called "tribal counsil". The exciting story is told against a rich tapestry of troubled personal relationships.

Hey, what a cool post. Sometimes I despair of creativity in our community. Then I find these seeds and their sprouts.
The cross world stuff got a major shift when the story Frankenstein Unbound got popular in the 1970s. For an example of a modern take, have a look at The League of Extraordinary Gentleman. The comic books, not the movie please. Or for a more philosophical take, Alan Moore's Promethia. Woody Allen did this a couple of his movies, including a merge into the movie world in both Play it Again, Sam and The Purple Rose of Cairo. More recently we had The Last Action Hero which offers the movie ticket as key to other worlds. As of Alice (the books) the looking glass that keeps our imaginary worlds separate has become almost become an open door. Have a read of Michael Creighton's Timeline for this modern take on time travel. Have a read of Grant Morrison's The Filth for another take on the relationship between story worlds. Rich Veitch tried this in his Maximortal story. Here is a question I've been pondering for some few years: What is the distance between two stories?

If using a linear measurement, I would say this thread shows the distance between two stories is all contained in space aproximately 6-8" wide.
Good stuff.
