Did anyone download this trick yet?

This is what they promise on the expertmagic site :

Totally Impromptu
Gimmick Free
Visually Stunning
Easy to Master
Uses all Borrowed Objects
Any Pen
Any Bill
NO Set-up
Use any bill from any country.
Perform anywhere, anytime.
Start completely clean
End completely clean

I always get a bit suspicious when I see a "to good to be true" list like this one. I should wait for a review but I am so tempted...

I just bought it. Here are my first impressions:

For those of you using Linux (as I do) it might be important to know that
the files available for instant download are DRM protected, i.e. you need
access to a windows machine with a windows media player (series 9 or later)
to watch them. The filesize is about 130 MB, so you should have a fast
internet connection.

The video itself is well-produced. Eric James does a good job in teaching
the trick. The total playing time of the video is around 17 minutes.

The secret of the trick is not very deep, but given the fact that
I was not able to figure it out from the demo, it was worth the 20$ for me.
The trick itself is exactly what it claims to be:

"Gimmick Free, Easy to Master, Uses all Borrowed Objects, etc."

The only thing I doubt a little bit is that you can "Use any bill from
any country". Ok, in principle you can, but in my opinion the effect will
look much less convincing when using a shorter bill, e.g. a 10 Euro bill
(3cm less than a dollar). Poesjenel, as you are from Europe, you might
want to consider this.

Having this said, I must say that I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

Thank you Chris,
Although I could not figure the trick out from the demo the dimension of the bill was something I wondered about because Alan Rorrison used a very long bill on the demo he put on his site. I'm still tempted but hesitating...meanwhile I downloaded "Next" , an ebook from A. Garcia and I am very happy with that.

So if we were to compare Melt from Peter Eggink, and Mislead (the second phase where the pencil melts through the note) against Misleading Misled, which effect do you think is the best?

Thanks

"How is it diffrent from A.E.?"

This is something which I would like to know as well...
If both are significantly similar, then buying "Strangers Like Me" from Peter Eggink (which contains the pen thru bill effect) seems to give more bang for the buck....

I just looked at A.E. on the magic video depot and I notice some major difference. When the pencil is put in the bill you do not see the back part of the bill while with mislead you clearily see the pencil against the back part of the bill ( near the crease ) which just gives a much greater impression of the pencil really being put "in the bill".

Hello, A.E uses a gimmicked to make the effect work, I have this trick and find it smart but I have never used it. For this version you can see the pen/pencil clearly go through the bill and you can show it front to back (any buyers look in the post purches forum at http://www.expertmagic.com in the next few days for this move. There is also another effect, "Real pen etration in the post forums right now so you can have a stab through effect to and in this you can see Alan teach

I own Misled and Just Passin' Thru. I know A.E only from the demo but
I think it looks pretty cool. The nice thing about these three effects
is that you can hold the bill at the top edges when doing the penetration.

My problem with MM is currently that my hand holding the bill during
the penetration covers a big part of the bill. Eric James (the guy who
teaches the effect) seems to have very long fingers so this is less of
a problem for him. But maybe I'm still doing it somehow wrong ...

(I wish I had not seen the A.E demo. Now I'm tempted to buy it.
I'm really spending to much money on magic recently ;-))

I downloaded this trick and found it well produced and well tought. It IS gimmick free and keeps all the promises made on the demo.

The one thing I will change is using a pen. Taking, out of your pocket, a small pen knife and using it instead of a ball point pen is (in my opinion) far more dramatic and just as believable.

There is someone who posted on the expertmagic forum about using different things, I have done so and don't see why others should not

O.K. everybody,

I would like to put my 2 cents on A.E. by Peter Eggink. When I first watched the demo,it totally fried me - more than once. The illusion of placing (cradeling)a pencil in a 'bill' and to watch it 'melt' through slowly is just absolutely awesome! When I purchased this effect I was a bit hesitant to perform it due to it's modus operandi. As I got the 'hang' of it, it's truly amazing how it looks when properly performed. I did it in front of a mirror just to observe the 'specs'view and it truly looks awesome. Lets not forget that both items can be immediately handed out for complete examination.
