In Dan Harlan's DVD magic with rubber bands Vol 1 he does a trick created by Mark Fitzgerald which reverses CMH, I find it to be a devestating move that always makes jaws drop. I do CMH, and while we are taking about the effect I casually reverse it which makes everyone wonder if they were seeing things. A one two punch that always gets a great response.
Thanks Dan Al Angello

You notice how quickly everyone responded to your post about CMH and mine about the CCK.
This is after that complaint about this all being about the cups and balls. Just goes to show you that it is a user-driven forum.

I've always bought into Michael Ammar's theory that it's more "magical" if they don't go back together. The difficulty in getting them lined up in the first place makes the ease of separation that much more mystifying.
I'm comfortable enough with the unlinking only phase, so I never really tried changing it. Or maybe I just used that as an excuse not to learn the relinking.

I also prefer the unlinking phase. For me it's anti-climatic if I would make them link again.

Thanx guys, when I perform rubber band magic it is always up close for a small group of people, and there is always heated audience discussion, comment, opinions, requests, and suggestion that could change the order of tricks, or even the direction of the performance, so I like to have as many wepons at my disposal as possible.

The re-linking of the bands can be a strong kicker, especially if the spectators have been conditioned to see the bands unlink in one or two different ways. The problem I have with this move is not the impact it has on spectators, but the angles. Whereas the unlink is virtually angle proof, the re-link is not. As a result, you have to be somewhat selective as to when you can perform it.

That's why I don't like to do the linking phase coz the audience have been conditioned on seeing an angle free unlinking phase then you go into an angle sensitive linking phase which makes them think there's something fishy going on.

Back together can only be effective if done while talking, and preferably making eye contact with your audience those are the conditions under which it has the greatest impact.
