As a long time fan of the Andy Griffith Show, I keep up with the stars from it that are still around...so it's with great sadness I found out that Howard Morris, the classic character "Earnest T. Bass", passed away on May21st.
Hard to believe he was in only five episodes, but he directed many others and was in MANY TV shows and movies during the 60's and beyond. A "magical" character and actor that'll be around in reruns and the hearts of fans....forever!!!! He was born in 1919...so he had a good long life. |

Woah that sucks. I'm a pretty young but still love the Andy Griffith show. One of the funniest shows out there with good morals in it. Atleast he will be immortalized in the character of "Earnest T. Bass".
Thanks! Scott B.

And who can forget him as the Hamburglar? (He quipped "rubble, rubble" on a talk show and said "For that, they paid me $xx,xxx last year!")

I do believe he did a lot of work in voice overs, and I specifically remember his voice work in the "Jetsons" cartoon series.
Also, he did a wonderful character on a Dick Van Dyke show episode as "Holdecker" and was very funny. I'm positive he did a lot more than I even know. Very funny and talented man. "All I want Andy I one of them there uneeforms!"
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
