Look...this is the way it is.
Ian McColl has advanced the art of Escapology more than anyone else in the past 50 years. His genius is seen in the movies, television, books and on stages every day around the world. So to you people who try to compare yourself to him, try to flame him or criticize him or his work...you're a loser. If you try, forget it. ~Rick~

P.S. I never cared for Secret Squirel.

The one benefit of taking a course is that most countries allow you to declare it as education on your taxes, so it might help if you need to pad out your deductions. Most of what was in the course I took was self evident, but there was one or two tidbits of information that I found new, and helped speed up my picking skill/knowledge. At work, people still have me use a set of bolt cutters rather than pick open locks for them. Go figure.

Why do you want to study locksmithing? To be a locksmith, or to do escapes. Picking locks does not require a locksmithing course. You can find free instructions on the net from any search engine, buy or make some picks and start practicing. There are all kinds of correspondence locksmith courses out there vary in price from a couple of hundered to several thousand dollars, and none teach anything you can't learn from a book or two, many of which are available in your local library.
Most of the locksmiths I know actually apprenticed and learned on the job.
