Its the same size...its much imporoved in the sense of conveinience....its so much eaier to transport eithrr on the plane or to the pitch...its closes up into a bag like a pocket book/purse...no what I mean?....so all your stuff can be right in there....the old one attached to the stand and hung there...and stuff could fall out although that wasn't a big problem...also this one is much stronger because of craftmanship and it leather wher the first 4 or 5 were that vynal?..stuff so this is the real one versus the prototypes that I have beenn developing over the years...and like;ly this will change...i think this design fits what I do and maybe not someone else BUT^ you can take this basic design and make it yours...

hope that helps
koz

One more thing...the table servant is a great way to work but I also load out of my pockets so I have to have pants taylored to do this...which with pouches you don't need that additional expense but its how I work and I recommend it

Koz, do you want those metal studs put on the bottom like
a briefcase or suitcase has to keep the leather from wearing
prematurely?

I set the pouch up this morning and was checking out the
workmanship. It's quite astounding. The work on the zipper
pockets looks like it's right out of a "Coach" catalog.

Absolute perfection.

Koz,
Is this one smaller or larger or what's the "improvements" over your last design?
Jim

Jim, the old one had a metal frame. Vinyl. The dividers did not go all the way to the
bottom. Like Kozmo said, it was just a prototype.

Other New features:
1. removable wooden dowels
2. shoulder strap
3. flap/cover
4. side zipper pockets
5. inside pockets
6. coin slots
7. reinforced bottom
8. snap dividers/pockets
9. wonderful soft leather

Even if you do wear a pouch, this could easily take the place of a back pouch
or your gear bag. I'm considering this for my outdoor work.
I use a suitcase table most of the time and if I did use this, I could go back
to using my restaurant try stand, the table top, and the servante, loaded with stuff.
And I'd still wear my poacher's pouch. A much lighter setup.

The last thing that needs to be re-designed is how it attaches to the stand.
I have some ideas that can probably be easily implemented by Koz to avoid the snaps.

Frank,

Is this a one of a kind special for Kosmo, or will they be available for the rest of the buying public?

This really looks cool! I can see how it would be easy to work out of and into.

BTW, some time back, I saw a post that said something about how a servante could be used like your lap. I found this amusing, because the original title of the Stars of Magic item where Slydini tipped lapping was called "The Art of Using the Lap as a Servante."

You're right Bill. I remember that too.

One idea I have for the non-strap-non-snap connecter would be
to extend the short dowels toward the tray stand/keyboard stand.
Then secure them with straps to the stand.
The only issue would be that the distance between the dowels is constant
and might not match up with the stand correctly. More thought needed.
I'm sure a simple solution like this is very do-able.

You could attach them using cheap velcro straps, or a small leather strap.
Or even a short length of rope or nylon strap.

Frank

The servante cost is going to be $425. I'm going to have a small batch made for those that have emailed me. If you'd like to get one of them from this batch, let me know so I can add you to the list.

It might be.
I can't even get myself to switch to the cellini pouch from my original design.
Everything just seems so cozy as is. It's hard to make the leap to something new.

This I'm strongly considering, however.
I have to go thru my act and see what would have to change.

The new servantes are now self-attaching to a keyboard stand
or to a restaurant tray stand. I devised a strap setup that makes
it adjustable and secures it to the stand without having to drill holes
and create your own fasteners. All self-contained now.

Copper tubing now replaces the wooden dowels, at kozmo's request.

I honestly don't remember what my previous post was about but what I came up with is this...
Kozmo already told me that straps needed to attach to the copper pipe not the servante itself so that was a given.

So I tried to come up with something simple. Basically picture 2 belts with holes everywhere. one belt attaches via loop to the copper piping. One belt attaches to the spectator end of the stand with leather "boots" that go over the far ends of the stand. line up the holes, and screw the 2 belts together with leather screws (flat).

once it's done the first time, it does not need to be undone.

it's simple, flexible, easy to do. and does not require a ton of custom work for each customer. It's basically the same for everybody.

Good luck at the Garden, DAK! Glad you like it.
