That's such a cool subject isn't it? Lol anyway I want to cause something living to die, or something metal to rust, or make something decay. How to do it isn't my problem right now. I want this to happen in the spectators hands in a table hopping or strolling situation. So it has to be something that can be used over and over and wont get squished in my pocket, so flowers, leaves etc wont work. I suppose rusting metal would be possbile but it wouldn't be as cool. Any ideas on what would be durable enough to carry around all day but is still living? A seed germinating I thought of but that's kinda like giving life which is the opposite of what I want. Anyway any ideas would be much apreciated thanks!

Have a flower perfectly preserved in a crystal (acrylic) ball - something you can hold in your hand - and do a really undetectable switch (somehow, the method I leave to you) in someone's hand, switching in an identical ball with a blackened and wilted flower.

Hi, Night
Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but it's durable. Get a small oblong-shaped piece of metal, say 4 inches long by half an inch wide and an eighth of an inch thick or so. Treat one side of it to make it rusty. You can then show both sides with a simple paddle move. Place it in the spec's hand (rusty side down, of course) and have them close their fingers over it. Then use suggestion to make them feel it tingle or grow warm or whatever, then have them turn their hand over and drop it onto the table (or the palm of their other hand. Alternatively, you could use a piece of wood that is burned on one side--or more bizarrely, perhaps, has a name or message burned into it. Etc. --Mike |

Nightbringer, I'd highly suggest Luke Jermay's Divided by Hate, from the Building Blocks book - whereby you kill a rose by merely holding your hand over it, and thinking hateful thoughts. It transforms from a vivid red rose to a dried out dead husk.
Or at least, this is the first thing that came to mind when you mentioned what you were looking for.
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.
