Hi all...
I recently found a copy of Dunninger's Encyclopedia at a local used book store. I absolutely love the old-style prose and approach of the book. If not all too practical in these modern times, it's still a fun resource for a peek at the history of our craft.
However, as an illustrator, I found myself quite taken with the artwork. It's rough, at times sloppy, but all the same clearly denotes a very specific style. Does anyone here have any information on who illustrated it? My copy doesn't say (or at least I can't find it). Was it one person? A group of people? Was this person or persons also magicians themselves?
Any help would be great.
Thanks!

The book is made up of clippings from Hugo Gernsback's (sp?) "Science and Invention" magazine from the 1920's. Most likely done by a staff artist/artists.

I can tell you one thing about this book, they must have printed millions of them as they are the most available book of any I have ever seen. They can be picked up very reasonable and are fun to look at and read, as for practical magic, no way...

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......
