For example: I havent' figured out a way to make Pro's Nightmate funny. But when I perform John Zander's Loose Ends its fits me perfectly and ends up being very funny. I think you have to decide whether you are going to be funny telling and throwing in one liners or by situational comedy. I can never remember any one liners so I have to resort to situational comedy and that works great for me. Just a little bit to chew on. John |

Check out Jeff Hobson Live! on DVD. His style may not be yours but he shows how to have a comic character from go to woe.

Steven's Tape called Comedy Magic is a good collection of styles. Mark Kornhouser, Fielding West, and Micheal Finney. the styles are very different and it gives you a good look at how to form your character. And it's funny!

Hi Isaac I know of the Michael Finney routines, would you mind giving a review of the performance and effects of the Kornhouser and Fielding section. Also, what are Finny Bones?
If not that's ok I wasnt able to find a review on the DVD thanks (Paul Kozak just came out wiht a performance DVD I just ordered it and will tell you what I think later after viewing)

I re-watch Wayne Dobson's DVD's more than any I've purchased in a looong time. His Royal Command Performance is one of the funniest magic performances I've seen in many moons. His audience handling and routining is excellent as well.

If Tony had a video, I'd be watching it, too! He's got one of the funniest shows that I've ever seen. A true genius.

All right just got the Kozak DVD and I really enjoyed it. While I didn't like it specically for his comedy and enjoying his style I loved the fact that I can know it can be done, this is good for me because I wanted to see what a magician looks like in a comedy club....However, that's me, if your looking in another direction than I suggest another.
By the way the original poster last posted in JUNE of '05!!!!! haha well we all can learn from here!!
