Is here a known history on the Coin Tray, and is it still the property of someone?

I recall that Hofszinzer had a couple of trays that did what modern coin trays do, but were of a different design, mostly glass framed with wood. Isn't the metal tray described by Hoffman? That would most likely put it in the public domain. cK

Curtis, you are correct, the coin tray is described in Hoffman's "Modern Magic," and it probably wasn't a "new" trick even at that time (late 1800's). Unfortunately, we will probably never know who actually invented it. SETH
